Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Name the popular 1986 Genesis album.

Answer: Invisible Touch

"Invisible Touch" is a great album and produced five UK singles. The album was a commercial success reaching number one in the UK and number three in the US.
2. There was also another lead singer in Genesis who replaced Phil Collins in the mid 90s.

Answer: True

Ray Wilson came in an attempt to re start Genesis after Phil Collins announced his departure in 1996.
3. Which Genesis music video stars the late Benny Hill?

Answer: Anything She Does

This was not an official single from Genesis but a video was made. It features Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford at a gig with Benny Hill as a security guard at the venue who lets lots of people slip past him to get to meet the band. Chaos follows as he tries to catch them and usher them all out before the band gets back to the dressing room.
4. Song lyrics now; can you name which Genesis song these words are taken from? "In silence and darkness, we held each other near that night, we prayed it would last forever".

Answer: Domino

"Domino" lasts for over ten minutes and the song is actually in two parts. It was always performed on the later Genesis tours from 1986 (when it was written) onwards.
5. Genesis member Tony Banks said in an 1987 interview that this film is said to be the inspiration for the "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" music video. Which film is it?

This song is very atmospheric and there are longer and shorter versions available on various Genesis albums. The longer version (eight minutes and fifty three seconds) is the original that can be found on the "Invisible Touch" album.
6. The song "Mama" was released in what year?

Answer: 1983

"Mama" reached number four in the UK charts and is another one of Genesis' more dramatic songs (they did quite a few of those!) There is also a very sinister laugh which Phil Collins does in this song a few times.
7. During Phil Collins' solo "First Farewell Tour" in 2004-2005, he did, on very rare occasions, perform a Genesis track. Which one?

Answer: Invisible Touch

He performed this Genesis classic as a little bonus song on some of the additional shows of his solo "First Farewell Tour" in 2005.
