The Supremes had their 12th and last number one on the US pop chart with "Someday We'll Be Together", it held the number one spot for one week in 1969. It reached number 13 on the UK chart the same year.

This song has a history, it was written in 1961 by Johnny Bristol, Jackie Beavers and Harvey Fuqua. Johnny Bristol and Jackie Beavers then recorded and released the song as Johnny & Jackie but it failed to chart. In 1969 Jr. Walker & The All Stars were about to record it when Berry Gordy decided it would make a good song for the first solo release by Diana Ross. In the end despite the remaining Supremes Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong not being on the record, it was released as The Supremes last recording before Diana Ross left the group.
