Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "How I'm moved, how you move me with your __________________."

Answer: beauty's potency

From the track "Moving", which Kate wrote when she was a little girl. It was released as a promo single with "Wuthering Heights" in 1978, and later as a postcard single.
2. "You'll never see the ________ you stirred in me."

Answer: poetry

From "The Saxophone Song", which was released as a postcard single shortly after the album came out.
3. In the song "Strange Phenomena", Kate sings "He has the answer". What is the answer?

Answer: Om mani padme hum

A mantra in Tibetian buddhism. It is said that all the teachings of the Buddha are contained in this mantra. Yet, Om Mani Padme Hum can not really be translated into a simple phrase or sentence. The song "Strange Phenomena" was released on the "Wow" four track EP later on.
4. "Beelzebub is aching in my ___________."

Answer: Belly-o

From the song "Kite", which was released as the B-side of Kate's first official and successful single "Wuthering Heights".
5. "Oooooh, he's here again.." Who is?

Answer: The Man With The Child In His Eyes

This is one of Bush's best known tracks, and was released at least nine times as a B-side on different singles, and on its own.
6. Who wrote the book "Wuthering Heights" on which Kate's song "Wuthering Heights" is based?

Answer: Emily Brontė

It was first released in 1847, and is one of the most grand works of the British literature history. Emily's sister, Charlotte Brontė, wrote the book "Jane Eyre", which, as well, is one of the British literature's best known and most respected pieces. The third sister, Anne, was also a writer, but didn't eventually become as well known as her sisters.
7. In "Wuthering Heights", Kate sings "Heathcliff, it's me, ____". Who?

Answer: Cathy

Actually, there are two Cathys in the book. The first one was always called Catherine, never Cathy, and her daughter's common nickname was Cathy. A mistake? If you want it to be.
8. How does the song "Wuthering Heights" end?

Answer: With a long instrumental section

To some people's surprise, the 70's smash hit "Wuthering Heights" was - and is - Bush's only number one ever in the UK. It was released many times on its own and on different B-sides and EP's. It's without a doubt Kate's best known track.
9. There's a song on the album called "____ and the Cold Gun". Wait, who with a cold gun?

Answer: James

The song itself has only been released outside the album with "L'Amour Looks Something Like You", with both being live versions.
10. "God, but you're _____, aren't you?" I'm sorry, he's what?

Answer: Beautiful

From the song "Feel It". In the credits of the album, Kate said: "To all of you with open ears - please feel it.". The song was later out as a live version on the "Live At Hammersmith Odeon" album/video tape.
11. Two men, David Paton and Ian Bairnson, do the backing vocals on the track "Oh To Be In Love". They also play what instruments?

Answer: Guitars

The song itself was released earlier on the "Wuthering Heights" EP.
12. In the song "L'Amour Looks Something Like You", Kate sings: "You look like an angel, sleeping it off at a ______." At a what?

Answer: station

A live version of the song has been released many times.
13. Using a line from the song "Them Heavy People", Kate thanked someone in the credits for "rolling the ball". Who did she thank?

Answer: Dave Gilmour

Here's how it went - Kate's father's friend Ricky Hopper got his hands on Kate's early demo tapes and pestered his college friend, Pink Floyd's leading man Dave Gilmour to hear them out. He promised to do so, and fell in love with Kate's talent. He played the tapes to the EMI bosses, and they were taken too. I know it's a real cliche to say this, but the rest is history.
14. In the chorus of the song "Room For The Life", Kate repeats a word. What is it?

Answer: Woman

Here's the chorus: "No, we never die for long / While we've got that little life to live for / Where it's hid inside, no, we never die for long / Oh - woman, two in one / There's room for a life in your womb, woman / Inside of you, can be two, woman / There's room for a life in your womb, woman / Mama woman - aha -".
15. And, finally - what is the name of the final track? (C-mon, this is easy!)

Answer: the kick inside

You know why it was that easy? Because it was the title track!
