They are songs from "Poe" who took her name from a Halloween costume based on an Edgar Allan Poe short story, Poe achieved a contract with Atlantic Records during the boom of female singer/songwriters during the mid-'90s. Her real name is Annie Decatur Danielewski. Her music is very layered and talented, especially her 2nd album "Haunted."

Glasgow, Scotland native Al Stewart began his career playing guitar in Tony Blackburn's band "The Sabres," and moved from there to the London folk club scene. After an unsuccessful single on Decca, "The Elf" (which featured Jimmy Page on guitar by the way), Al signed with CBS and, beginning in 1967, released a series of albums largely consisting of introspective, confessional love songs.

The song, "Soho (Needless to Say)" is off of Al's 1974 "Past, Present and Future" album, while "Broadway Hotel" is off of "The Year of the Cat" which came out in 1976.
