1. What Missouri town is the headquarters of the band?

Answer: Springfield

All of the band members currently live in the Springfield area. It is also considered to be the birthplace of the band. They began playing at the New Bijou Theater in Springfield. The band suffered a major setback when the theater burned to the ground, and they lost some of their equipment.
2. What name was NEVER used by the band?

Answer: Granny's Bathwater

One of John Dillon's first bands was called Granny's Bathwater. The final name of the band was inspired by Commander Cody, one of the band's heroes. Their entire name was Cosmic Corncob and His Amazing Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
3. What is the design on the cover of their first released album?

Answer: Quilt

Mules were featured on the cover of the "Men From Earth" album, the "Car Over the Lake" album showed a car, and "It'll Shine When It Shines" displayed a china plate.
4. On which album was the hit "If You Wanna Get To Heaven"?

Answer: Ozark Mountain Daredevils

"Ozark Mountain Daredevils" was the group's debut album. It was released in 1973, after being recorded in England. The group stayed at an estate called Headley Grange, where Led Zeppelin had recorded their fourth album. On this album are also two of my favorites, "Country Girl" and "Chicken Train".
5. Which band member had a successful career as a producer for the band Alabama?

Answer: Larry Lee

When the band received notice that their record deal with Columbia was going to be dropped, Larry decided it was time to take a break from the band. He moved to the Nashville area and became a producer for groups like Alabama and Restless Heart.
6. Name the men on the cover of the band's "Men From Earth" album.

Answer: Clarence and Roscoe

Clarence and Roscoe lived near Supe Granda during the time the "Men From Earth" album was being recorded. Occasionally Roscoe, who played the harmonica, would play along as the band practiced. Clarence and Roscoe posed for the picture in exchange for $400. They needed the money to replace a stolen chainsaw and shotgun.
7. Which song contains the line "moonlight and stars and your strawberry wine"?

Answer: Jackie Blue

"Jackie Blue" was written by Larry Lee and was included on "It'll Shine When It Shines". The song made it to No. 3 in Billboard and hit the top of several other charts. In the early 80s it was inducted into the Million Air Club.
8. John Dillon's mother advised that the best way to learn to play the harmonica was to:

Answer: keep it in your pocket.

John says that he "didn't understand that for a while, then I realized the way you learn how to play harmonica is by keeping it in your pocket." The idea was that if John carried the harmonica all the time he would always have it handy for practice. John passed his mother's advice on to Steve Cash, who said that he eventually made a sound or two that he thought was OK!
9. How long has the band played together?

Answer: 35 years

Their first album was released in 1973. Steve Cash says that when John
Dillon asked him to be in the band, he replied "I've never been in a band."
John replied, "It doesn't matter, probably won't last anyway."
10. Which Daredevils attended high school together?

Answer: Larry Lee and Steve Cash

Larry Lee and Steve Cash attended Parkview High School in Springfield. Randle Chowning is from Mountain View, Arkansas. John Dillon was born and raised in Stuttgart, Arkansas, and Supe Granda is from St. Louis.
