Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. There are two chairs with artists' names on them, a guitar and microphone. It's a live album by which band?

Answer: Whitesnake

Whitesnake's "Starkers in Tokyo", released in 1997. It includes such classics as "Soldier of Fortune", "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love". By the way, I just love David Coverdale's voice.
2. Black background and four stalks with thorns, probably roses.

Answer: Type O'Negative

Type O'Negative's "October Rust" was released in 1996 and "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend" has been haunting me ever since.
3. White background. Two children, dressed the same, white chair. Some trees.

Answer: Smashing Pumpkins

Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dream", released in 1993. I still can't decide which one I prefer - "Today" or "Disarm".
4. A strange portrait. You can see an abstract face, with huge eyes and a nose. The person is wearing a crown. There's also a hand reaching from outside the painting towards one of the eyes. Colours - mostly green and white, a bit of blue, black and brown.

Answer: Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost "Shades of God", released in 1992. The first of their albums where you can actually listen to the lyrics, as Nick Holmes realised he could sing.
5. A playground with a girl on a swing. The shadow of a man who is standing in front of her.

Answer: Korn

Korn's self-titled debut album, released in 1994. "Blind" is the first Korn's song I have ever listened to.
6. Something more difficult this time, but maybe not. Black and dark blue background. In the centre something that looks like a red and white crest with the band's logo and dragon's head. Instead of the motto there's the record's title.

Answer: Dokken

Dokken's "Back for the Attack", released in 1987. "Dream Warriors" appears on the soundtrack of one of the Freddy Krueger movies. Somehow this band didn't get all the attention it deserved.
7. A black and white (or rather sepia) photograph of five hands.

Answer: Bon Jovi

"Keep the Faith", released in 1992. Listen to the guitar in "Dry County".
8. A black and white photograph again. Through a window you can see a power line post.

Answer: Stone Sour

Stone Sour's self-titled album was released in 2003. I couldn't believe when someone told me Corey's other band was Slipknot.
9. Brownish background. In the middle a wooden totem polem with the band's logo.

Answer: Queensryche

"Promised Land", released in 1994. Very different from their previous effort, "Empire", but still full of wonderful melodies - "Lady Jane", "Bridge" or "One More Time".
10. A rather ragged looking person (?) chained to the walls, probably in a mental institution.

Answer: Iron Maiden

"Piece of Mind", released in 1983, with classics like "The Trooper", "Flight of Icarus" and "Where Eagles Dare". And because of "To Tame a Land" I read Herbert's "Dune" series of books. Well, four of them, actually.
