System of a Down burst onto the scene in 1998. They would spend a couple years opening for bands like Slayer and Metallica. In 2001, their album "Toxicity" debuted at number one in the American charts and System of a Down would become headliners themselves.

Thin Lizzy's first major success came when "Whiskey in the Jar" was released as a single. They would become a world wide smash when "The Boys Are Back in Town" was released in 1976.

Santana released his debut album in 1969 and immediately found success. The album reached number four on the US Billboard charts. However, it would be 30 years before Santana would see a number one hit when he released "Smooth."
