Creed was originally Scott Scapp, Scott Phillips, Mark Tremonti, and Brian Marshall (who left near the end of 2000). Between 2000 and 2002, the group had four top 40 hits on Billboard's Hot 100, all in the top seven. "With Arms Wide Open" was number one in 2000. Gene Chandler sang "Duke Of Earl" in 1962. Glenn Campbell did "Rhinestone Cowboy" in 1975. Kim Carnes topped the chart in 1981 with "Bette Davis Eyes".
2. What was a hit for Captain & Tennille?

Answer: Love Will Keep Us Together

Daryl Dragon (son of conductor Carmen Dragon) was nicknamed "The Captain" by Mike Love of The Beach Boys for whom he played keyboard. He and his wife, Toni Tennille, had nine top 40 songs on the Hot 100 1975-1979, including two at number one: "Love Will Keep Us Together" (1975) and "Do That To Me One More Time" (1979). "The Happy Organ" (1959) by Dave "Baby" Cortez, "Sailing" (1980) by Christopher Cross, and "Butterfly" (2001) by Crazy Town were also number one songs. ["Butterfly" is not the same song done by Andy Williams and Charlie Gracie in 1957, nor is it the tune sung by Mariah Carey in 1997.]
3. The group: Culture Club. The number: ?

Answer: Karma Chameleon

Formed in London, Culture Club included George "Boy George" O'Dowd, Jon Moss, Roy Hay, and Mikey Craig. From 1983-1986, the group had ten top 40 songs on the Hot 100, six of which made the top ten. "Karma Chameleon" (1983) was their only chart-topper.

The other number one tunes were the Dave Clark Five's "Over And Over" in 1965, Bill Conte's "Gonna Fly Now" in 1977, and Camillionaire's "Ridin'" in 2006.

Between 1957 and 1965, Sam Cooke (real name) had 29 top forty hits on the Top/Hot 100, the last three posthumously. Most noted were "You Send Me" (number one on the Top 100 in 1957) and "Chain Gang" (number two on the Hot 100 in 1960). His career was cut short when, at age 33, he was shot to death under enigmatic circumstances on December 11. 1964.

In 1974, "I Shot The Sheriff" was released by Eric Clapton. Irene Cara sang "Flashdance...What A Feeling" in 1983. And C & C Music Factory (featuring Freedom Williams) made number one in 1990 with "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)".
5. The Chiffons had a top hit with which offering?

The Chiffons were formed in the Bronx by four women: Judy Craig, Sylvia Peterson, Patricia Bennett, and Barbara Lee Jones. One of the "girl groups" of the sixties, they had five top 40 numbers on the Hot 100 from 1963-1966. "He's So Fine" was number one in 1963.

The other options were: "Tequila" by The Champs in 1958 (Top 100), "Time In A Bottle" by Jim Croce in 1973, and "(I Just) Died In Your Arms" by Cutting Crew in 1987.

Club Nouveau appeared in the top 40 on the Hot 100 only in 1987. The quintet (Jay King, Thomas McElroy, Denzil Foster, Valerie Watson, and Samuelle Prater) had two top 40 tunes: "Lean On Me" at number one, and "Why You Treat Me So Bad" at number 39. "He's A Rebel" by The Crystals in 1962, "Gypsies, Tramps, & Thieves" by Cher in 1971, and "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson in 2002 also topped the Hot 100.

At the age of 38, Harry Chapin was killed in an automobile accident in 1981. Prior to that, he had four top 40 hits on the Hot 100 between 1972 and 1980. His only top ten hit was "Cat's In The Cradle," that topped the chart in 1974. The Coasters were number one on the Top 100 in 1958 with "Yakety Yak". Bruce Channel with "Hey! Baby" (1962), and Chicago with "Look Away" (1988) topped the Hot 100 list.
9. The group: Color Me Badd. The melody: ?

Answer: I Adore Mi Amor

From Oklahoma, Color Me Badd (Bryan Abrams, Sam Watters, Kevin Thornton, and Mark Calderon) had nine songs on the top 40 of the Hot 100 1991-1996. Two of those were number one: "I Adore Mi Amor" and "All 4 Love," both in 1991. In 1962, "I Can't Stop Loving You" was a number one hit for Ray Charles.

In 1978, Chic hit the top with "Le Freak". "The Flame" by Cheap Trick made number one in 1988.
10. In 1965, Petula Clark had which chart-topper?

Petula Clark (real name) had 15 top 40 hits on Billboard's Hot 100 between 1965 and 1968. Six of those made the top ten, including at number one "Downtown" in 1965 and "My Love" in 1966.
