Haircut 100 formed in 1981 with Nick Heyward as the writer and the lead singer. They had four UK top ten records including this track, 'Fantastic Day', which got to nine in the UK charts.

Nick Heyward got the idea of their dress coat when he went into this shop with fishing gear .. and thought 'Wow I'll dress up as a fisherman'. The band wore Aran jumpers and chinos tucked into their socks, creating a very different look from other boy bands.
