Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Independent Women Part I"

Answer: Destiny's Child

American girl group Destiny's Child were formed in Houston, Texas in 1997, and originally consisted of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett. The group underwent a few personnel changes, and took on their final and best known format as a trio consisting of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams in 2000, before disbanding in 2006.

Their 2000 single "Independent Women Part I" plays as we see the Angels pull up at the drive thru of a burger restaurant.

The speaker box is not working, so Alex (played by Lucy Liu) leans over Dylan (played by Drew Barrymore) to fix it by using her bubble gum to hold the dodgy wires together. It continues to play as we are shown an outside shot of the high rise building in which Roger Corwin (played by Tim Curry) is holding a party - a party at which the Angels are going to get investigating.
2. "Twiggy Twiggy"

Answer: Pizzicato Five

Often known as "P5", Pizzicato Five were a Japanese pop band that were active between 1979 and 2001. "Twiggy Twiggy" is the eighth song on their fifth studio album "This Year's Girl", which was released in 1991. The song plays as the three Angels, along with their loyal sidekick Bosley (played by Bill Murray) make an entrance at Corwin's party, having armed themselves with mic transmitters (worn as molar caps) and earpieces so that they can stay in touch the whole time as they gain information on the person they think is behind the kidnapping of Eric Knox (played by Sam Rockwell).
3. "Groove Is in the Heart"

Answer: Deee-Lite

The American dance music group Deee-Lite was formed in New York in 1986, and consisted of Lady Miss Kier, Towa Tei, DJ Dmitry, and DJ Ani. Best known for their 1990 earworm "Groove Is in the Heart", which reached number one in Australia and Belgium, number two in the UK, and number four in the US Billboard Hot 100, the band disbanded in 1996.

The song plays as Natalie (played by Cameron Diaz), who is disguised as a waitress, interacts with barman Pete (played by Luke Wilson) at Corwin's party, and we see that there is an instant mutual attraction.

It continues to play as we then see Bosley talking with Roger Corwin, and bravely swallowing some blowfish, despite believing that it is poisonous (Dylan reassures him via her mic transmitter that "technically one in sixty is fatal") to impress Corwin by proving that he "has no fear of an excruciating death".
4. "Angel's Eye"

Answer: Aerosmith

One of the most popular and enduring rock bands of all-time, Aerosmith were formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970, and originally consisted of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Ray Tabano, Tom Hamilton, and Joey Kramer. Specifically written for the "Charlie's Angels" movie, their 2000 single "Angel's Eye" plays as Natalie chases the Thin Man (played by Crispin Glover) around the race track in race cars, before they head out into the street and onto a bridge where they end up playing a game of chicken that ends with the Thin Man being launched into the river in his race car.
5. "Barracuda"

Answer: Heart

American rock band Heart were formed in Seattle, Washington in 1973. They are perhaps most famous for their 1987 single "Alone", which reached number one in both the USA and Canada, and was a top ten hit in numerous other countries. However it is their 1977 single "Barracuda", which was the lead single from their second studio album "Little Queen" that plays during the movie.

It plays as the Angels, disguised as efficiency experts, enter Roger Corwin's RedStar offices where they intend to infiltrate his mainframe room and plant a bug to prove that Corwin has stolen Eric Knox's software.
6. "True"

Answer: Spandau Ballet

With a name that originates from slang used by Allied troops in World War I, Spandau Ballet are an English new wave band that were formed in Islington, London. Originally active between 1979 and 1990, the band reformed in 2009, and embarked on a sell-out world tour. Taken from their third studio album of the same name, their 1983 single "True" plays as we see Dylan checking for bugs and anything else untoward at Eric Knox's plush hillside house, as the Angels are worried that he might still be in danger. Knox comes over as somewhat awkward and clumsy, but it is clear that there is some sort of chemistry between the two of them, and Dylan ends up staying for the evening.
7. "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing"

Answer: Leo Sayer

Known professionally as Leo Sayer, British singer-songwriter Gerard Hugh Sayer was born on 21st May 1948 in Shoreham-by-Sea in Sussex. His 1976 single "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" was his first number one single on the US Billboard Hot 100, and it won him, and co-writer Vini Poncia, the 1978 Grammy for Best R&B Song.

It plays as we see shots of Natalie meeting Pete at the entrance to the set where "Soul Train" is being recorded, Alex's movie-star boyfriend Jason (played by Matt LeBlanc) apparently enjoying a drink with Alex (although we later see that he is shooting a scene for a movie with someone who looks like Alex), and Eric Knox's business partner Vivian Wood (played by Kelly Lynch) paying Bosley a visit at the agency.
8. "The Humpty Dance"

Answer: Digital Underground

Active between 1987 and 2008, Digital Underground was an alternative hip hop group that consisted of numerous different members during its existence, including founder Greg "Shock G" Jacobs, DJ Fuze, and even 2-Pac. Their 1989 single "The Humpty Dance" was taken from their debut Album "Sex Packets", and reached number eleven in the US Billboard Hot 100, and number seven in the US R&B / Hip Hop chart.

It plays as we see Natalie and Pete enter the "Soul Train" set, where a security guard says "You. Wanna dance on stage?" Natalie and Pete are super excited, but then the security guard tells them that "the stage is for the ladies." Not wanting to separate from Pete, Natalie politely declines, but then Pete says "This is like Soul Train's highest honour. I'm not gonna sit her and let you not go up there. So yeah, she'll go." Natalie tells Pete that she has "always wanted to go up there", and like a giddy schoolgirl, heads on up to the stage.
9. "Tangerine Speedo"

Answer: Caviar

Caviar was an alternative rock band consisting of Blake Smith, Mike Willison, Dave Suh, and Jason Batchko that were formed in Chicago, Illinois, and were active between 1999 and 2004. The band are best known for their song "Tangerine Speedo" which is included on their self-titled debut album that was released in August 2000.

The song plays as Vivian Wood seduces Bosley in the agency, however we quickly learn that her intentions are less than amorous, as in a subsequent scene we see her spike Bosley's drink with some sort of white powder whilst he is out of the room.
10. "Baby Got Back"

Answer: Sir Mix-A-Lot

Known by his stage name Sir Mix-A-Lot, American rapper and record producer Anthony Ray was born on 12th August 1963 in Seattle, Washington. He is perhaps best known for his 1992 single "Baby Got Back", which was released as the second single from his third album "Mack Daddy".

The song plays as Natalie gets onto the stage at "Soul Train", and begins living out her dream fantasy that we saw earlier in the movie of dancing in front of a crowd. However her "uniquely Natalie" dance moves aren't instantly appreciated by the "Soul Train" dancers, as they look on somewhat confused and disapprovingly.

But Natalie's enthusiasm and energy soon wins them over, and her dream fantasy finally comes true.
