A driving force in the establishment of Motown in the 1960s, Gaye was fatally shot by his father during a family altercation in their Los Angeles home on 1st April 1984, one day before his forty-fifth birthday.

His 1977 single "Got To Give It Up (Part 1)", which reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, plays during the scene in Eric Knox's hillside house where Dylan (played by Drew Barrymore) learns that Eric Knox (played by Sam Rockwell) and Vivian Ward (played by Kelly Lynch) are actually the bad guys, that Roger Corwin (played by Tim Curry) had nothing to do with it, the kidnapping of Knox was a setup, and the Thin Man (played by Crispin Glover) has been working for them all along.
2. "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)"

Answer: Looking Glass

Part of the Jersey Shore sound, the American pop group Looking Glass were active between 1969 and 1974. They are best known for their 1972 single "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)", which reached number one in the US Billboard Hot 100. The song plays as Chad (played by Tom Green) uses his boat Betsy to pilot the Angels to the abandoned lighthouse where Eric Knox and Vivian Ward are holding Bosley (played by Bill Murray) captive.
3. "Simon Says"

Answer: Pharoahe Monch

Known by his stage name Pharoahe Monch, American rapper Troy Donald Jamerson was born on 31st October 1972 in Queens, New York. A member of the alternative hip hop duo Organized Konfusion, "Simon Says" was his debut single as a solo artist, and the first of two singles released from his debut album "Internal Affairs".

The song plays as we see Eric Knox in the abandoned lighthouse performing a funky dance whilst smoking a cigarette and drinking a can of Coke as he waits for the RedStar satellite network uplink to be established, so that he can finally discover the location of Charlie, who he believes killed his father.
4. "Leave U Far Behind (V2 Instrumental Mix)"

Answer: Lunatic Calm

Formed by childhood friends Simon "sHack" Shackleton and Howard "Howie" Saunders, Lunatic Calm were an English electronic music group that were active between 1996 and 2003. Their song "Leave You Far Behind" is taken from their debut album "Metropol", and is used in a number of movies, including "The Matrix" and "Mortal Kombat Annihilation".

It is the V2 Instrumental Mix that plays during "Charlie's Angels" as the Angels disembark from Chad's boat Betsy, and walk along the rocks to the base of the abandoned lighthouse. We hear that Alex (played by Lucy Liu) is going to "tap the signal from the roof", Dylan is going to "go deal with Knox", and Natalie (played by Cameron Diaz) is going to "bring our Bosley back". We then see the Angels split up and take different routes to achieve their objectives.
5. "Skullsplitter"

It plays in "Charlie's Angels" as Natalie fights Vivian Ward and Alex fights the Thin Man in different parts of the abandoned lighthouse before all four of them end up outside, where they continue fighting. Meanwhile, Eric Knox has discovered Charlie's location, and leaves to exact his revenge on the man he believes killed his father.

Known for their rivalry with Mancunian band Oasis during the early-to-mid 1990s, Blur have scored a number of chart hits, including "Song 2" which is taken from their 1997 eponymous fifth studio album.

The song plays as Dylan uses one of Eric Knox's henchmen to free herself from the chair to which Knox has tied her, and then continues to defeat the five henchmen in the manner she predicts immediately prior to releasing herself from the chair.
7. "Billie Jean"

Answer: Michael Jackson

The super-talented multi-award winning singer-songwriter released "Billie Jean" in 1983 as the second single from his sixth studio album "Thriller", which is the world's best-selling album of all-time. We hear a brief extract from the song after Dylan defeats Eric Knox's five henchmen and moonwalks out of the room, just as she told the henchmen she would immediately prior to releasing herself from the chair.
8. "Ya Mama"

Answer: Fatboy Slim

Known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, English DJ and musician Norman Quentin Cook (who was born Quentin Leo Cook on 31st July 1963 in Bromley, Kent) first found fame as the bass player for The Housemartins, before embarking on a successful solo career. Released as a double-A side along with "Song for Shelter", his 2001 single "Ya Mama" plays as Bosley and the Angels chase after Eric Knox who is flying his helicopter "north, just past Paradise Cove" to go and kill Charlie.

The Angels fire a grappling hook into Knox's helicopter, and climb up the cable whilst it is in flight. Alex changes the rocket from laser targeted to heat seeking, whilst Dylan enters the cockpit to fight Knox. Knox fires the rocket whilst Natalie disconnects some cables underneath the helicopter, which disables the flight controls, before entering the cockpit to get Dylan, and all three Angels jump from the helicopter just before the rocket slams into it, killing Knox.
9. "Angel"

Answer: Rod Stewart

Known for his raspy singing voice, British rock singer-songwriter Roderick David Stewart was born on 10th January 1945 in Highgate, London. His 1972 recording of Jimi Hendrix's "Angel" was included on Rod's fourth studio album "Never a Dull Moment", which reached number one on the UK album chart, and number two on the US album chart. "Angel" plays as the Angels enter Charlie's beach house, but realise he is not there, and they are hearing his voice through a speaker box.

It continues as Charlie (via a speaker box) tells the Angels and Bosley the truth about Eric Knox whilst they are enjoying drinks on the beach.
