"Monster Mash" was recorded by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and The Cryptkickers in 1962.
It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1962, number 91 in 1970, and number ten in 1973.

The Cryptkickers consisted of Gary Paxton, Leon Russell, Johnny McCrae and Rickie Page. Gary Paxton had a hit with "Alley Oop" in 1960.

Like most of Ray Stevens' songs and videos, this one is absolutely hilarious. One of my personal favourites is "It's Me Again, Margaret".

Ray Stevens is also well-known for other hits, such as "The Streak", "Ahab the Arab", and "Gitarzan".
