Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Friday night they'll be dressed to kill, Down at ___'s Bar 'n' Grill, The drink will flow and the blood will spill" from "The Boys Are Back In Town by Thin Lizzy.

Answer: Dino

From their 1976 album, "Jailbreak" this Thin Lizzy track topped the charts in their native Ireland as well as reaching the top ten in UK and Canada. There is a theory that has never been confirmed by anyone connected with the band that the track is about the notorious Manchester criminal organisation, The Quality Street Gang.
2. "The Saturday night city beat had already started, And the, the pulse of the corner boys just sprang into action, And young ___ watched it all under the yellow street light" from "Rat Trap by Boomtown Rats.

Answer: Billy

Taken from their 1978 album, "A Tonic For The Troops", this Boomtown Rats track knocked "Summer Nights" by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John from the hit movie, "Grease" off the top of the UK charts. It was also one of the four songs performed by the band during their slot at Live Aid which was organised by lead vocalist Bob Geldof.
3. "___ takes a trolley to the jewellery store, Buys a twenty carat golden ring, Takes it back to Molly waiting at the door" from "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" by the Beatles.

Answer: Desmond

From the album, "The Beatles" (1968), this track was not initially released as a single in either UK or USA, despite topping the charts in Australia, Japan, Switzerland and West Germany, leading to a stampede of acts recording cover versions in the hope of a hit. Scottish band Marmalade were most successful of these, topping the charts in UK, Austria and Norway.
4. "Teardrops on the city, Bad ___ searching for his groove, Seem like the whole world walking pretty, And you can't find the room to move" from "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" by Bruce Springsteen.

Answer: Scooter

"Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" is a track from Springsteen's 1975 album, "Born To Run" and the character Bad Scooter shares his initials with Bruce Springsteen on purpose as this song references the formation of the E Street Band, and also include the lyric, "Big Man joined the band", a clear reference to long time and much missed saxophonist Clarence Clemons.
5. "Well I heard Mister Young sing about her, Well I heard ole ___ put her down" from "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Answer: Neil

Taken from the band's 1974 "Second Helping" album, this track was a reply to the songs, "Alabama" (1972) and "Southern Man" (1970) by Neil Young, which highlighted the themes of slavery and racism in the southern states. The single reached number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 but was a bigger hit in Canada where it peaked at number six.
6. "As a young boy chasing dragons, with your wooden sword so mighty. You're St. George or you're ___ and you always killed the beast." from "Flash Of The Blade by Iron Maiden

Answer: David

This track was on Iron Maiden's 1984 album, "Powerslave" and was covered by Avenged Sevenfold on their 2008 album, "Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough". The lyrics are about living by the sword, and ultimately dying by the sword and the track was featured in the 1985 horror movie, "Phenomena", also known as "Creepers", starring Jennifer Connelly.
7. "___ walks warily down the street, With the brim pulled way down low, Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet" from "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen

Answer: Steve

Taken from Queen's 1980 album, "The Game", this track hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in USA as well as in Canada, Spain and Israel and was written by bass player John Deacon. It is played at many first aid seminars as the song has a beat of 110 beats per minute, so is perfect for the recommended CPR compression rate of 110-120 bpm.
8. "Crazy ___ followed me yeah, and he caught me in the fog, He said, "I would fix your rack, oh yeah if you'll just take Jack, my dog" from "The Weight" by The Band

Answer: Chester

"The Weight" came from The Band's first album, "Music from Big Pink" (1968) and although it was a top 40 hit in Canada and UK, failed to crack the top 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 in USA. The song has been covered by artists as diverse as John Denver, the Black Crowes and Panic! at the Disco, but my personal favourite is by Jack White, Jimmy Page and The Edge in the movie, "It Might Get Loud" (2008).
9. "Take your protein pills and put your helmet on, Ground Control to Major ___ Commencing countdown, engines on" from "Space Oddity" by David Bowie

Answer: Tom

"Space Oddity" was from Bowie's 1969 album "David Bowie" and Bowie took his inspiration from Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) when writing the track. A 2013 cover version by Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield became the first music video to be filmed in space, when he recorded his rendition aboard the International Space Station.
10. "Fingers ___, Diamond Jim, They're gettin' ready, Look out, I'm comin' in" from "Sin City by AC/DC

Answer: Freddy

"Sin City" was on the "Powerage" album from Australian giants AC/DC, released in 1978, the first to feature Englishman Cliff Williams on bass, replacing Mark Evans. The album faltered just outside the top 20 in the band's Australia but over 40 years later is considered one of their finest studio albums.
