1. Which word is missing from these lyrics to "Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels)" from the Arcade Fire's debut album "Funeral"? "But sometimes we remember our bedrooms, and our parent's bedrooms, and the bedrooms of our friends. Then we think of our _______ well whatever happened to them?"

Answer: Parents

"Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels)" was the Arcade Fire's first single released on June 20, 2004.
2. Which song are these lyrics from? "In the forest we are hiding, unmarked graves where flowers grow. Hear the soldiers angry yelling, in the river we will go."

Answer: Haiti

The song "Haiti" makes reference to band member Régine Chassagne's heritage; before she was born her family emigrated from Haiti to Canada to escape the country's dictatorship.
3. These lyrics are from the band's second album "Neon Bible" but which song are they a part of? "Oh God! Well look at you now! Oh! You lost it, but you don't know how! In the light of a golden calf, Oh God! I had to laugh!"

Answer: Neon Bible

The title "Neon Bible" is often wrongly thought to be in reference to the John Kennedy Toole novel of the same name but in fact Win Butler, the band's lead singer, has stated that he merely liked the imagery. The religious content of the album was in part inspired by the band having, "watched a lot of TV preachers' get-rich-quick schemes on YouTube.".
4. Fill in the missing word from "My Body is a Cage"; a song off the "Neon Bible" album. "My body is a cage, That keeps me from dancing with the one I love But my ______ holds the key."

Answer: mind

"My Body is a Cage" is notable because of the heavy use of a church organ on the song. The band recorded their first album "Funeral" in an attic studio named 'Hotel 2 Tango' but decided to buy and renovate a church for the recording of their second album "Neon Bible".
5. Who "died in the night" according to "In the Backseat" from "Funeral"?

Answer: Alice

The album "Funeral" was given its title because several mambers of the band had lost friends and relatives in the year or so prior to release. Further reference to this can be seen in the lyrics to "In the Backseat" which includes the line, "My family tree is losing all its leaves...".
6. "Neighborhood #2 (Laïka)" is a song off the "Funeral" album, and it tells the story of Alexander setting out on an adventure which will ultimately end in his death. However, what was Alexander bitten by? "Our older brother bit by a ________! For a year we caught his tears in a cup."

Answer: Vampire

The song "Neighborhood #2 (Laïka)" was actually inspired by the first living creature to go into space. Win Butler has said of the matter, "It's a great story about a dog being the first living creature in space. Doing this spectacular thing, but not having food and watching itself fall back into the earth."

Laïka was originally a stray dog which the Soviet space program trained for space flight. She went up in "Sputnik 2" on November 3rd, 1957. Recently, it was revealed that she died a few hours into the journey because of a malfunctioning thermal control system, previously it had been thought she had survived for several days.
7. Which song do these lyrics belong to? "Working for the church while your family dies You take what they give you and you keep it inside."

Answer: Intervention

Arcade Fire released "Intervention" on iTunes on December 26, 2006, three months before the release of their second album "Neon Bible". All proceeds for the single were donated to 'Partners in Health'; a Haitian charity organization.
8. Which word completes these lyrics to "The Well and the Lighthouse"? "Resurrected, living in a lighthouse If you leave them ships are gonna _______"

Answer: wreck

A month before the release of "Neon Bible" an audio clip of a child reading a 17th century French fable, "The Wolf and the Fox", was put on the band's website. Apparently the song "The Well and the Lighthouse" was written with that fable in mind.
9. Which song are these lyrics from? "It knows not pride or vanity. It cares not about your dreams. It cares not for your pyramid schemes. Their names are never spoken. The curse is never broken."

The song "Black Mirror" has an interactive music video. When watched on the band's website the viewer is able to manipulate the instruments she/he hears.
10. In the song "No Cars Go" the band variously sing that they know a place where no planes, ships, cars and spaceships go. However, there is a fifth mode of transport mentioned, which of these options is it?

Answer: subs

The song "No Cars Go" first featured on the band's EP "Arcade Fire" and was later re-recorded for the "Neon Bible" album.
