Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "There's a Rock Show at the concert Gebow, we got long hair at Madison Square".

Answer: Paul McCartney and Wings

Great McCartney medley starting with "Venus and Mars" and segueing into "Rock Show". ("In my green metal suit..")
2. "So I tucked my hair up under my hat, and I went in to ask him why". (The original band, not the re-make).

Answer: Five Man Electrical Band

Great 60's era rebel song. I still wear my hair long!
3. "They come a-running just to get a look, just to feel, to touch her long black hair; they don't give a damn"

Answer: Electric Light Orchestra

My all-time favorite song, "Do Ya" bY ELO. Wish I had had a chance to see them live. Wifey swears "best light show, bar none". Fabulous lyrics, great distorted guitar, incredible strings..You get it!
4. "(She) brushes her long blonde hair"

Answer: Eric Clapton

This lyric is from Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight". In my opinion, Eric's best slow ballad. Hope you got it!
5. America's hit "____ Golden Hair".

Answer: Sister

Sons of American servicemen stationed in England, got together in high school as acoustic rock group playing mostly on the base, I believe one of the most underrated bands of the 70's. I was fortunate enough to see them live "in the round" at Valley Forge, PA just before they tore down the theatre. (They appeared with Guess Who and Dave Mason).
6. "Crowds of people sittin' on the grass with flowers in their hair said 'Hey boy, do you wanna score?'"

Answer: Led Zeppelin

From Zep IV, "Misty Mountain Hop" is one of two Zep songs I could think of with the mystery word in it. Had to include a Zep song in my quiz. So it was either this or "That's the Way" (From Zep III). Hope I chose the right one.
7. "There, running my hands thru her hair"

Answer: The Beatles

Inspired by the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows", "Here, There and Everywhere" from Revolver, is what Paul refers to as the song of his that "comes closest to perfection". Beautiful, lyrical and melodic masterpiece.
8. "Heartbreaker, soul-shaker" is a lyric from the song "Hair of the Dog". What band sang it?

Answer: Nazareth

If you know anything about Nazareth, it's amazing that they are the same band that sang "Love Hurts". 'Nuff said.
9. Choose the only song listed that is from the musical "Hair".

Answer: Good Morning Starshine

Chart-topper by "Oliver", this song is a classic 60's hit produced by Bob Crewe. Love it!
10. Without looking back, _____ is the mystery word common to all the questions.

Answer: Hair

You think you know songs until you try to find a common bond. Hope you had fun. Thanks, Bwebster.
