Answer: The Bangles

The Bangles' original lineup was Michael Steele, Debbie and Vicki Peterson and Susanna Hoffs. They wanted to call the band The Bangs but that name was already taken. Their biggest hit was "Walk Like a Egyptian". The video for "Going Down to Liverpool" featured Mr. Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy.

The Cranberries were from Limerick, Ireland in 1989. Their first lead singer was a man but he didn't last long. The band placed an ad looking for a new singer and found Dolores O'Riordan. They played mostly alternative rock but mixed in many other styles. Sadly Dolores passed away in 2018. The band disbanded the following year.

Evanescence features Amy Lee on lead vocals. She also is very skilled at playing the piano. She founded the band with Ben Moody in 1995. Their first major label record was "Fallen" which was a worldwide hit.

L7 is a punk rock band that formed in 1985 in California. The 1992 album "Bricks are Heavy" was their most popular. Some of their songs include "Pretend We're Dead", "Fuel My Fire" and "Baggage". Donita Sparks usually is the lead singer but other members also take over sometimes. Sparks had a notorious moment on a British television show when she dropped her pants during their performance.

Joan Jett was born as Joan Larkin in 1958. After her parents' divorce she took her mother's maiden name of Jett. When she was still a teenager she founded an all girl band called The Runaways. They recorded five albums before breaking up. Needing a new band she placed a want ad looking for new members. Soon after she had put together her backing band the Blackhearts.

Their most famous song is a cover of "I Love Rock 'n Roll" by English band the Arrows.

The band went though a few name changes before finally ending up at Heart. They were White Heart, The Army and Hocus Pocus first. Ann Wilson is the lead singer with her sister Nancy also singing vocals too. They play mostly rock music and have had many hits; they were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2015. Ann Wilson had a cameo role in the classic comedy "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".
7. "Heartbreaker" (1979) and "Treat Me Right" (1980)

She was born as Patricia Andrzejewski in 1953. She is short in stature (5 feet) but has a powerful voice. The Benetar surname is from her first husband. She divorced him but kept the last name for her stage name. Her signature song is "Hit Me with Your Best Shot". The video for her song "You Better Run" was the second video played on MTV in 1981.
8. "Only Happy When It Rains" (1996) and "I Think I'm Paranoid" (1998)

The band formed in Madison, Wisconsin in 1993. Early recordings had founding member Butch Vig singing lead vocals. He knew he didn't have the right voice so they auditioned vocalist Shirley Manson from another band called Angelfish. She usually has bright red hair and was born in Scotland.

Some of the band hits include "Vow", "Stupid Girl" and "Queer". Butch Vig is also a record producer and has produced albums by Nirvana, Green Day and L7.

The band formed in Texas in 2002 and featured Lacey Sturm on vocals. They released their major label self-titled debut in 2005. Their music has been been described as hard rock, nu metal, post-grunge and even Christian rock. A great example of the religious side is the song "Cassie".

Free Dominguez is the lead singer and one of the founding members. Their music is industrial rock mostly but has a softer side also. "Zerospace" was the second album they released and their most popular. They had songs on the soundtracks of the films "Bride of Chucky" and "Queen of the Damned".
