Medellin is a Spanish town in Castille. He was born in 1485. When he was 14 years old, his parents moved to Salamanca (Spain).

Answer: Diego Velazquez

Velazquez later chose Cortes to lead an expedition to the Aztec land. After Cortes started to organise men, Velazquez became suspicious of him and tried to remove him from the command; but Cortes ignored him and sent sail to find the Aztec land. (Historians have varying opinions on what exactly happened here).

Montezuma greeted them and showered upon them various gifts because he believed that Cortes was actually a God.
