Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who lived to be the same age as the number of days in a normal year, or in other words a non leap year?

Answer: Enoch

According to Genesis 5:23, Enoch lived for three hundred and sixty-five years. In other words, he lived to the age of the number of days in a normal year.

Genesis 5:24 tells of Enoch walking with God "and he was not, for God took him." According to Hebrews 11:5, Enoch did not see death. The verse in the NKJV states, "By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, 'and was not found, because God had taken him'; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God."

Genesis 5:21 states Enoch was the father of Methuselah.
2. Who had as many sons as there are items in a dozen?

Answer: Jacob

Jacob had twelve sons, the same number as there are items in a dozen. Jacob's sons were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad and Asher. The mothers of the twelve boys were Leah, Rachel, Bilhah and Zilpah. (See Genesis 35:23-36)

In addition to the twelve sons, Jacob had one daughter -- Dinah.
3. Who had the same number of daughters as there are days in a week?

Answer: Reuel, also known as Jethro

Reuel, also known as Jethro, is the correct answer. Exodus 15:16 states Reuel was the priest of Midian and he had seven daughters. However, apart from Zipporah, the names of Reuel's daughters are not given in Scripture. Zipporah ended up becoming Moses' wife and she bore two sons -- Gershom and Eliezer.
4. Using the NKJV and the NIV, what Old Testament book has the same number of chapters as the number of weeks in a year?

Answer: Jeremiah

Using the NKJV and the NIV, Jeremiah is the only book in the Protestant Bible that contains fifty-two chapters. In the Protestant Bible, the book of Jeremiah appears in the Old Testament after Isaiah and is followed by the book of Lamentations.

In addition to writing the book that bears his name, Jeremiah is credited with writing 1 Kings, 2 Kings and Lamentations. He is one of the major prophets in the Old Testament and is known as the weeping prophet.
5. What Old Testament book, in the NKJV and the NIV, has the same number of chapters as there are days in each of the months January, March, May, July, August, October and December?

Answer: 1 Samuel

Using the NKJV and the NIV, 1 Samuel has thirty-one chapters. In other words, it has the same number of chapters as there are days in January, March, May, July, August, October and December.

The book of 1 Samuel provides an account of notable happenings in Israel's history, including the coronation of Saul as the first king and David killing Goliath.

According to tradition, the book was written by Samuel, the last judge of Israel.
6. Judas received the same number of pieces of silver to betray Jesus as there are days in April, June, September and November. How many pieces of silver did he receive?

Answer: 30

Judas, one of the original Twelve Disciples, received thirty pieces of silver from the Pharisees for betraying Christ. The betrayal is told in all four Gospels -- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. However, shortly after Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss in the Garden of Gethsemane, Scripture states that he was overcome with remorse and he returned the thirty pieces of silver before hanging himself.
7. Genesis 2:10-14 tells of the Garden of Eden being the source of the same number of rivers as there were members of the Beatles (at the time of their international fame). How many rivers flowed out of Eden?

Answer: 4

Four, of course, is the correct number. Genesis 2:10 states a river went out of Eden "to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads."

According to the NKJV, the four rivers were Pishon, Gihon, Hiddekel and the Euphrates.

The Beatles, consisting of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, were affectionately known as The Fab Four.
8. Scripture states Jesus cleansed a group of lepers equal to the number of commandments given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. How many lepers were cleansed by Jesus in the mass healing?

Answer: 10

Ten, of course, is the correct answer. The Miraculous cleansing of the ten lepers by Jesus is recorded in Luke 17:11-19. According to the passage, only one of the ten lepers, a Samaritan, returned to give thanks to Christ.

Moses, of course, received the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai, as per Exodus 20:1-17.
9. If you know the number of goals in a hat-trick in ice hockey, you can easily answer this question: How many sons did Noah have?

Answer: 3

According to Genesis 5:32 Noah and his unnamed wife were the parents of three boys -- Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Noah and his wife as well as their three sons and their wives survived a massive flood that engulfed the world by taking refuge in a gigantic ark.

When a hockey player scores three goals, it is described as a hat-trick. Some other sports also use the term hat-trick when an achievement equals three of a kind.
10. According to 2 Kings 8:16-18, what man became king of Judah when he was the same age in years as the temperature at which water freezes on the Fahrenheit scale?

Answer: Jehoram

Jehoram became king of Israel at the age of thrity-two years, the same temperature at which water freezes on the Fahrenheit scale. According to 2 Kings 8:16-18, Jehoram was the son of Jehoshaphat, and was evil in the sight of the LORD. The passage also states he took the daughter of the wicked Ahab as his wife. Jehoram reigned for eight years.

Water, of course, freezes at 32 Fahrenheit.
