Quercus robur is the Latin name for the English Oak, a tree of the Oak family native to Europe. It is a deciduous tree and produces well known fruit called acorns. The tree can grow to have a very large trunk, with the Majesty Oak in the UK having a trunk diameter of 12.2 meters.

The venus fly trap is a carnivorous plant native to the US West Coast. Although its name suggests the plant only 'eats' flies they will consume other insects and arachnids too. The plants have a 'trap' located at the end of their leaves. The trap is covered in tiny hairs which, when triggered by an insect, activate the trap. The trap then seals shut in order to digest the insect.
