Jennifer moved to Barrie - by herself - to train with Doug and Michelle when she was 13. She lived with a loving family while she was in Barrie and went home to Windsor when she could, until finally buying a place of her own so she could train in Barrie for as long as possible. Jennifer also goes to Detroit every summer to train with US Coach Richard Callaghan for a few weeks.

Jen cut herself after falling on a 3-lutz at the beginning of her program. This small wound was just above her right knee and while she didn't notice it while she was skating, she did in the Kiss and Cry, and then found out from the doctor in Germany that she would need stitches! She only got 2 but they were her first ones ever and she claimed she was a little nervous!

Although she got a late start, Jennifer did accomplish many feats quickly and went on to win many medals in Novie, Junior and Senior competition. She was a fast learner!
