Cumberland brokeaway from Western Suburbs, lasting only one season in which they were awarded the wooden spoon. Canberra were formed in 1982, Annandale in 1910 to replace Newcastle who had originally been in the NSWRL for 1908 and 1909 but left to start their own local competition. Annandale left the premiership in 1920 (after only 11 years, taking out the wooden spoon three times).

He led a player walk-off against Canterbury while playing for Norths in 1969. Provan and Summons played for St George and Western Suburbs respectively during the 1950s and 1960s and were immortalised with a photo after the 1963 Grand Final (won 8-3 by the Dragons).

This photo was taken by John O'Gready and is called "The Gladiators", and was made into a trophy for the premiership. Iro was a Kiwi.

Clive Churchill played for South Sydney from 1947 until 1958. His nickname was 'The Little Master' and made a record 26 Tests as Australian captain out of 34 Test appearances. He also caoached the Rabbitohs to their inspiring 1970 victory when John Sattler was captain.
