The fight was scored 113-113 by two of the judges with the other judge favouring DeGale with a scorecard of 114-112, resulting in a majority draw. In an eventful fight, both fighters were knocked down once, DeGale lost a tooth and the referee was caught with a Jack left hook while separating the fighters at the end of a round.

With the fight being a draw, both fighters retained their respective world titles. Jack went on to vacate his and move up to Light Heavyweight, DeGale went on to lose his title later in the year in a surprise defeat to Caleb Truax.

Despite the first victory being considered something of an upset at the time with some debate over the decision, the rematch proved to be a much more comprehensive win for Sor Rungvisai. He knocked Gonzalez out in the 4th round and retained the WBC Super Flyweight title.

At the time of the stoppage, Ward was ahead on two of the judges scorecards with Kovalev ahead on the other. Ward announced his retirement later in the year with an undefeated record of 32 wins, 0 losses and 0 draws.
