Answer: Boston Red Sox

On June 27th, the Red Sox humiliated the Marlins 25-8. The Red Sox scored 10 runs in the first inning before 1 out was even recorded. They went on to score 14 runs in the inning, which tied an American League record. Boston banged out 28 hits in the game. The run total tied a team read set in 1950 for the Sox.
2. Which of the following was nicknamed 'Home Run'?

Answer: Frank Baker

Baker played for 13 seasons in his career, with the Philadephia Athletics and New York Yankees. His career home run total was 96, so he did not live up to his nickname.
3. What team did Eddie Gaedel bat for, only one time in his career?

Answer: St.Louis Browns

It was 1951, when owner Bill Veeck pulled this stunt, pinch-hitting 3'7" Eddie Gaedel to try and draw a walk. He walked on 4 pitches, mainly because the pitcher was in hysteria with laughter.
4. Which of the following never played for the New York Mets?

Answer: Frank Robinson

Robinson, a member of the 500 home run club, played mostly for the Reds and Orioles throughout his career, with short stints with the Dodgers, Angels, and Indians. He retired in 1976. The others listed were all on the 1973 Mets.
5. What pitcher led the Major Leagues with the most wins in 2002?

Answer: Randy Johnson

The other pitchers listed, retired decades earlier. Johnson with the Diamondbacks, went 24-5 in a remarkable season. His efforts won the Triple Crown Award, and the National League Cy Young Award, his 5th. The 6'10" left hander nicknamed 'The Big Unit', led the league in strikeouts for the 5th time in 2002 also.
6. It seemed that I was overshadowed much in my career, by another great pitcher on my team. Even my 17 wins in 1968, took a back seat to Denny's 31-6 record. However, I took the World Series MVP that season. Bill Freehan and I made a great battery combination. I retired in 1979 just short of 3000 strikeouts. Who am I?

Answer: Mickey Lolich

The others listed were not pitchers. Lolich was more than consistent throughout his career, mostly with the Tigers. Denny McLain stole the show in 1968 with a remarkable 31-6 record. Mickey had 3 wins in the 1968 World Series, defeating the Cardinals 4 games to 3.
7. Mike Schmidt played his entire career with what team?
