Remember back in Ruth's playing days the players didn't have the comfortable caps they have today. The caps were made of wool. So to keep cool he would wear a cabbage leaf underneath.

Answer: 1914

The exact date was April 23, 1914. The only one that was older in 2005 was Fenway Park which first opened on April 20, 1912.
3. Whose record did Mark McGwire break by hitting 70 home runs in 1998?

Answer: Roger Maris

It was the race of the ages. McGwire vs Sosa, who would break Maris' record? It was what really brought baseball back from the strike the fans just suffered through. Bonds would later break it in 2001 with 73.
