There had been teams playing in Lincoln since at least the 1860s but it took until 1883 for the official formation of Lincoln City.

Answer: 1892-93

The other eleven founder members were: Small Heath (now Birmingham City), Sheffield United, Darwen, Grimsby, Ardwick (now Manchester City), Burton Swifts, Northwich Victoria, Bootle, Crewe Aalexandra, Burslem Port Vale and Walsall Town Swifts.
