Courtnall had 82 goals for Montreal in 250 games. They later traded him to Minnesota for accomplished sniper Brian Bellows. Kordic had but 10 goals for the Leafs but had 446 penalty minutes in 104 games.

Hasek has won the Vezina Trophy 5 times through 1999, and the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP in 1998 and 1999. Ironically, with the 4th round pick Chicago selected perrenial 30-goal scorer Eric Daze.

Naslund led the Vancouver Canucks in scoring in 2000-01 and was named their captain prior to that season. The pugilistic Stojanov had 2 goals in 45 games for Pittsburgh, but was sent to the minors in 1997....

On July 9, 1990 the Buffalo Sabres traded him to the N.Y. Rangers for one dollar to avoid the waiver wire. Sheppard had 24 goals the following season and in 1994 scored 52 goals for Detroit. So there.

Calgary won the Stanley Cup 1 year later but Wamsley was a backup and Ramage didn't play that much either -- Hull scored a St. Louis record 86 goals in 1991, and had 527 career goals in 744 games as a Blue.

McDonald scored 34 goals for Calgary that season, and followed it up with a 66 goal season in 1982-83, a Flames record. McDonald also captained the Flames to the Stanley Cup in 1989.

Dafoe and Khristich were traded to Los Angeles by Washington July 8, 1995 for L.A.'s 1st round pick (Washington selected Alexander Volchkov - who?). L.A. turned around and traded them both August 29, 1997 to Boston for Jozef Stumpel, Sandy Moger and a draft pick.

Tikkanen helped the Rangers win the Stanley Cup one year after the March 17, 1993 trade. Following the Cup win they traded him to St. Louis for Petr Nedved, not bad. Weight shined for the Oilers, tallying 587 points in 588 games before they shipped him off to St. Louis in 2001.

Francis and Samuelsson solidified the Penguins run for two straight Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992. Francis recorded two 100-point season's for Pittsburgh and led the NHL in assists in 1995 and 1996. Ironically, Francis returned to the Hartford organization in 1998 when he signed as a free agent with Carolina Hurricanes, the relocated version of his old team.

Satan scored 128 goals for Buffalo from 1997-2001 and was their leading goal scorer 3 straight years from 1999-2001. Millar and Moore did next to nothing for Edmonton.

Vaive scored 290 goals for Toronto from 1980-87, and had 3 straight 50-goal seasons from 1982-84. Butler and Williams never did much for the Canucks.

Langway won the Norris trophy as best defenceman in 1983 and 1984, as he and Engblom anchored the Caps' defence through the mid eighties.

Jarome Iginla scored over 50 goals for Calgary in 2002, ironically the player Calgary traded to Dallas, Joe Nieuwendyk, was a former 50-goal man for the Flames as well. Nieuwendyk helped Dallas win the Stanley Cup in 1999, so they win the trade. As far as I know, this is the first trade involving former and future 50-goal scorers.
