Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The 42nd Grey Cup is considered one of the best CFL Championship games ever played. It was held in Toronto, Ontario in 1954. Which of the following teams scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to take the game away from the Montreal Alouettes?

Answer: Edmonton Eskimos

The Edmonton Eskimos were classed as underdogs going into the 42nd Grey Cup, with some odds as high as 5 to 1 against them. In the fourth quarter, ahead by 5 points, the Alouettes scored an early touchdown, putting the score at 25 to 14. But then, Edmonton's Glen Lippman scored a touchdown after a 14-yard run.

After the convert, the gap was closed by 7. Montreal marched back to Edmonton's 10-yard line with three minutes left in the game. Montreal's Chuck Hunsinger fumbled the ball and Jackie Parker of the Eskimos picked it up and ran 90 yards for an Eskimo touchdown.

The 83rd Grey Cup game is also called "The Wind Bowl", due to very strong winds gusting to 85 km/h in Regina on November 19, 1995.

Answer: Montreal Alouettes

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are known to have the most loyal fans in the CFL. Their fans have been called "The 13th Man", because they can make so much noise that they can make a difference in the performance of the Roughriders and can be a detriment to other teams.

However, in this Grey Cup game, "The 13th Man" ended up being a curse, as Damon Duval of the Montreal Alouettes missed a field goal to win the game in the last seconds. But, the Riders had one too many men on the field at the time.

Hence, the field goal was attempted for the second time and Duval was successful. The Roughriders ended up losing to the Allouettes by a score of 28-27. The 97th Grey Cup was also the most watched Grey Cup with approximately 6.1 million viewers.
