Hank came outside and saw Karen standing curbside. They hugged and talked briefly about his trip to New York, but she confirmed she was there to pick up Bill. Bill had been gone for a month, and had taken the same flight as Hank. Hank commented about all the hot towels Bill had used while on the flight. Hank then decided to grab a taxi, but Bill insisted he ride with them.

When she took him home, he told her about writing something real. He tried to give it her to read, as was always their pattern in the past. She admitted she was happy for him and curious, but didn't want to be his sounding board. She wanted them to start acting like they had really ended their relationship. Hank refused to let her say no to him, citing she'd caused it happen when they had sex in the previous episode.

After he opened it, the next scene showed Hank on the couch in Charlie's office. Charlie threw a ball at Hank, while stating he was the best agent. Hank agreed on the greatness of the money, and Charlie told him to get a new car. Hank said he liked his car, it had "character".

Charlie: "Yeah well, if by character you mean it's got lady juice in every nook and cranny of the upholstery, then yes you are absolutely right."

Hank showed the beautiful ring (exactly MY taste too) to Charlie. Charlie noted that Karen was already engaged, but Hank admitted it was still planning to propose to her! Ahh Hank, a day late and a dollar short. He then told Charlie he'd written something. Charlie was excited.

After he bought it, Becca stated that it was "even more phallic than the last one". I think both Hank and Becca have a good handle on Hank's personality. He then took Becca to a music store so she could get whatever she wanted.

The man had come into the music shop to sell his guitar. He had a young girl with him, presumably his daughter, and he needed cash. When the man left the shop, Becca requested that her father buy her that guitar and he complied. The man stated it was worth at least $10,000 on eBay, but would take $1000. Hank offered him the $13,500 but said he didn't have quite all of it in cash.

The man took however much cash Hank did have, and said to just play the guitar in good health.

It seemed like she was about to come clean, when Bill interrupted her to give her a gift. It was a hazy black and white picture that was supposedly of the view from her NYU dorm room. Mia also came in at that time and snatched Hank's manuscript to read. Karen decided against revealing anything to Bill after he gave her that thoughtful gift.

Answer: he was car jacked

After being totally rejected by Karen, Hank left to go home. When he stopped at a light, a woman approached the car asking for directions. As soon as Hank appeared somewhat distracted, a man came up and stuck a gun in to his head. He just wanted to save the manuscript, but didn't get a chance to. Fortunately (or not), Mia had made herself a copy of it.
