The episode began with Claire attempting to calm down a crying Aaron but her attempts to get him to stop crying were unsuccessful. She yelled at Locke to wake up and he did but John, himself, was also unable to quiet down Aaron. Claire suspected Aaron had a fever so she asked John to go find Jack to have him examine her son.

Claire started to put some water on Aaron in an attempt to get his fever to cool down and Danielle crept up on her. Claire asked her who she was and Danielle started to frighten her. Danielle asked her if she did not remember her but then Claire started to have multiple flashbacks of her dealing with Ethan and Danielle was in parts of her flashbacks. Rousseau also mentioned to Claire how something was wrong with Aaron.

Since she was nearby, Kate could hear Claire start to yell at Danielle to leave her town so she ran over and asked Danielle what she was doing there. Danielle did not respond so Kate told her to leave the camp. Danielle did as Kate asked and she walked off. Kate asked Claire what Danielle told her and Claire replied that Danielle claimed there was something wrong with Aaron.

Jack went to look at Aaron and he informed Claire of how his fever likely would go down and that she should not panic over Aaron getting a rush due to how that was common for children who had fevers. Claire told him how perhaps Locke had an infection so Jack asked her what she meant so she mentioned that Locke was around Aaron the past couple of days. Kate came by and told Jack how Rousseau came by and scared Claire.

Claire decided to go talk to Libby but Kate advised her to be careful around Libby since she did not trust her but Claire felt Libby could help her. She approached Libby and asked her if she was a shrink so Libby informed her she was a clinical psychologist but the term shrink also applied.

She asked Libby if she could help people remember things so Libby informed her it depended on what she needed to remember. Claire informed Libby as to what happened with her and Ethan and how she did not fully remember it all.

She suggested how she had amnesia but Libby advised her it was perhaps her blocking out most her dealings with Ethan.

In Mr. Eko's first scene, he was seen chopping down a tree and then he went to the hatch. Mr. Eko entered a room and encountered Locke and said hello to him. He asked Locke if he could borrow a saw so Locke showed him into the direction of the saws. The entire time, Locke and Jack kept Ben Linus silent so as to not around Mr. Eko's suspicions.

In Sawyer's first scene, he was sitting down reading a book and Kate approached him about wanting a gun. Sawyer called her "Thelma" (a reference to the film, "Thelma and Louise") and asked her why she needed one. Kate refused to answer him and just demanded he give her a gun but then eventually told him she needed to track down Rousseau and use a weapon on her. Sawyer offered her a gun and she took it.

Claire went to Sun and asked her if she could look after Aaron while she track down Rousseau to see if she could her with Aaron. Sun informed her that it would be best for Claire to listen to Jack since the fever might eventually let up but Claire told her she did not wait so long. Sun told Claire how she felt a mother should never leave a child, which upset Claire to the point where she asked Sun if she was a mother but Sun said no.

Despite Sun's objections, she reluctantly agreed to look after Aaron while Claire sought out Rousseau.

As Kate and Claire went off to look for Rousseau, Claire asked her how much she knew about Rousseau. Kate responded that she did not know Rousseau well but Claire told her that, for all the time she and Rousseau spent at Black Rock, she had to have known something. Kate stated how the most she knew of Rousseau was how a plane she was in crashed and most her research team died in it.

Mr. Eko approached Jack and asked him to tell him who he and Locke hid in the secret room in the hatch.
