Answer: Removal of American troops from the Sangala region

Colonel Ike Dubaku, General Juma's right hand man, called President Taylor and gave her his demands. He wanted the U.S. troops withdrawn from the region near Sangala. President Taylor didn't want to do so and wanted to avoid responding to the demands until the last minute, in the hopes that the FBI could recover the device.

Answer: Almeida was working undercover against the terrorists.

While Jack Bauer was choking Tony Almeida, Almeida whispered the words "Deep Sky" to Bauer. This was an old CTU emergency code used when a person was working undercover. Bauer called a number linked to the code and reached Bill Buchanan. Buchanan was running the operation along with Chloe O'Brian because there were people in the President's inner circle and in the FBI who were working with the terrorists.

Answer: Roger Taylor was about to be investigated for insider trading.

After finding out that Henry Taylor was still investigating Roger Taylor's death, Ethan Kanin decided to share secret information with Taylor. He told Taylor that his son was about to be investigated by the SEC for insider trading and that Roger Taylor could only have gotten the insider information from his connection with the president.

He also told Henry Taylor that President Taylor knew about the investigation but didn't tell her husband because she wanted to protect his memory of his son.

Answer: Sean Hillinger

After being confronted by Larry Moss for not informing him of her operation with Jack Bauer to capture Tony Almeida, Renee Walker told Moss that someone within the FBI was helping the terrorists. The system security access was then raised, limiting who could see what. Janis Gold noticed that someone had bypassed the access, and when she informed Walker, Walker told her to find out who it was. Gold discovered it was Sean Hillinger, one of her co-workers, and Hillinger told her he had done so because his wife was flying that day, and he wanted to make sure she landed safely.

Answer: Jack Bauer broke him out.

After being informed by Bill Buchanan that Tony Almeida was working undercover against the terrorists, Jack Bauer knocked out Renee Walker and Larry Moss to get Almeida out of FBI headquarters. Chloe O'Brian was able to access the FBI security system and guide them through the building. Janis Gold knocked her off the system, which Chloe claimed "really pissed her off". Of course, O'Brian managed to hack back in, and they were able to get out of the building (with Bauer driving off the third floor of a parking garage) to Bill Buchanan's waiting van.

Answer: David Emerson revived him with inside help from CTU.

David Emerson was looking for operatives who met a specific profile, namely that they had a beef with the government. Tony fit the profile, so after Tony was stabbed with a drug overdose on Day 5, David Emerson had him revived with inside help at CTU. Tony worked for Emerson and ran his crew for more than three years.

He was very close to Emerson, saying that Emerson had "treated me like a brother". But Almeida turned against him when he found out they were to acquire the device to override the CIP firewall.

Although Tony had done some "bad things" while working for Emerson, he wasn't prepared to kill thousands of innocent Americans.

Answer: He overpowered two of Emerson's men.

David Emerson knew that Jack Bauer had got Tony Almeida out of FBI custody, and Almeida needed a cover story to explain it. He called Emerson and told him that Bauer agreed to join their mission in exchange for their help getting him out of country to avoid the results of the Senate hearing. Emerson initially agreed, but when Almeida and Bauer arrived at the hideout, Emerson had two of his men take Bauer to the basement while he talked with Almeida.

He told Almeida that he couldn't trust Bauer and told him (Almeida) to kill him. Bauer must have suspected that something was up because he overpowered the two men and was holding a gun to one of their heads when Emerson came downstairs. Bauer pointed out that the men weren't very capable since he was able to overpower them, and Emerson agreed and let Bauer join their team.

Answer: Samantha Roth

According to Samantha Roth, Roger Taylor's former girlfriend, Taylor had been murdered. While conducting an audit of his firm, Taylor had discovered that some of the brokers were trading in firms that were dealing in Sangala. He also found that some of the accounts belonged to people in President Taylor's administration. He was killed before he could present her with the evidence.

Answer: Kidnap former Sangalan Prime Minister Matobo

After accepting Jack Bauer onto his team, David Emerson informed the team that we were tasked with kidnapping former Sangalan Prime Minister Matobo from his residence and delivering him to Colonel Ike Dubaku. Tony Almeida had placed a listening device at Emerson's hideout so Bill Buchanan and Chloe O'Brian heard the mission. O'Brian was concerned that Matobo would be tortured and killed, and Buchanan said that they would have to accept this in order to get to the bottom of the conspiracy.

Answer: She cut off his air supply until he talked.

Renee Walker had taken Janis Gold with her to the hospital. Alan Tanner wouldn't answer Walker's questions, so after being informed by an FBI guard that the lawyers had entered the hospital, Walker sent Gold to delay the lawyers while she continued the interrogation.

She threatened Tanner with a gun at first and then decided to cut off his air supply until he talked. After the lawyers arrived, she left and called Larry Moss to tell him that the terrorists were planning to kidnap former Sangalese Prime Minister Matobo.
