Renee Walker had taken Janis Gold with her to question sniper Alan Tanner in his hospital room. When his lawyers arrived at the hospital, Walker asked Gold to delay them so that she (Walker) could continue her interrogation. She pressed a gun into his wound to try to get him to talk, and when that didn't work, she cut off his oxygen supply. Tanner's lawyers had filed a complaint with the Attorney General, so personnel from that office had come to the FBI to question Walker.

Answer: They made a toxic gas from household chemicals and flushed them out.

Jack Bauer knew that they needed to get former Sangalan Prime Minister Matobo to use as bait to get to Colonel Ike Dubaku, so Bauer had to get him out of the safe room. The walls of the safe room were made of reinforced concrete, and the door could only be opened from the inside. Bauer suggested that they make a toxic gas out of household chemicals to flush the Matobos out.

The gas worked, and Matobo's wife unlocked the door as they were succumbing to the fumes.

Answer: She was captured by Emerson's team.

Renee Walker was the first FBI agent to arrive at the scene. As she was calling to report that she saw Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida loading the Matobos into a van, she was captured by one of David Emerson's men and was brought to Emerson. He wanted to kill her at the scene, but Bauer and Almeida talked him into taking her along - they needed to find out how much information the FBI had obtained from Alan Tanner, the captured sniper.

Answer: Secret Service agent Brian Gedge

After Henry Taylor received data from Samantha Roth that would prove that Roger Taylor was murdered, his Secret Service agent Brian Gedge told him that he would take Taylor to meet a friend who could help. He instead took Taylor to Roth's apartment where Taylor collapsed from a drug that Gedge had slipped into his coffee. Gedge told him that he would make his death quick as he (Gedge) had done to Taylor's son.

After being told by his FBI informant that Renee Walker had no further information about their operation, Dubaku's man Nichols ordered David Emerson to dispose of Walker. Emerson told Jack Bauer to do it, so Bauer shot her and then kicked her body into a ditch.

He had actually only grazed her ear, and she was still alive, unbeknownst to Emerson. After Bauer walked back to the van, Emerson told him to bury her and told Tony Almeida to help. As Bauer tossed a shovel full of dirt over Walker's face, the hour ended with a silent clock.

At the meeting point where the Matobos would be exchanged for diamonds from Colonel Ike Dubaku, David Emerson pulled a gun on Jack Bauer. Tony Almeida shot the other member of Emerson's team and then turned to Emerson who was holding Bauer and threatening to shoot him. Almeida only injured Emerson initially, but after Emerson went to shoot him, Almeida hit Emerson with a fatal shot. Almeida tried to stop the bleeding but wasn't able to do so.

Answer: Bill Buchanan told her.

Tony Almeida had somehow told Bill Buchanan where to find Renee Walker after he and Bauer buried her alive. She wasn't breathing when Buchanan and Chloe O'Brian arrived, but they were able to revive her. Buchanan explained the operation to her and told her that she couldn't contact anyone at the FBI because they didn't know who could be trusted.

Answer: Kill Emerson's team

The arrangement was that Nichols would give Emerson's team diamonds in exchange for the Matobos. Colonel Ike Dubaku instead ordered Nichols to kill Emerson's team once he had the Matobos. Dubaku said that Emerson's team was a "loose end". Nichols argued that they may need Emerson's team for another mission, but Dubaku said he would rather keep his diamonds.

Answer: Two planes colliding in the air

Colonel Ike Dubaku had used the CIP firewall override device to take control of two planes, a 250 passenger jet and a 20 passenger commuter plane, and he set them on a collision course. The planes collided over a residential area so there were more casualties on the ground.

He told her to comply with his demand that American troops leave the Sangala region or "ten thousand more Americans will die". Taylor decided to stand her ground despite having no support from her cabinet. Secretary of State Joe Stevens told her that she was "guaranteeing another attack", and he resigned when she refused to change her mind.

Secret Service agent Brian Gedge was in on the conspiracy involving Sangala, and he needed to silence Samantha Roth and Henry Taylor. After he killed Roth, he staged it to look like Taylor had done so, and then he took Taylor to the loft to stage his (Taylor's) suicide. Taylor had regained some of his muscle movement that he had lost from the toxin that Gedge had put in Taylor's coffee, and he was able to fight Gedge, with both men falling over the railing. Gedge died in the fall.
