Answer: David Corwin

The Babylon 5 command staff enjoy a party in Earheart's in honor of David Corwin's promotion from lieutenant, j.g. to full lieutenant. Since his promotion will bring him more in contact with the command staff, Sheridan asks Ivanova to feel out Corwin's loyalties to see if he could be brought into their conspiracy against Earth.

Answer: flowers

After Ivanova asks Corwin over to her place [for the purpose of determining the extent of his loyalty to Earth to see if he could be added to the command staff's little conspiracy] he goes to the Zocalo to buy flowers...he walks away with 40 credits worth of synthetic roses. Salesman: "Hi! Something I can help you with?" Corwin: "I don't know, I was thinking...flowers." Salesman: "Thinking flowers is good, giving flowers is better. What's the occasion?" Corwin: "I'm not sure, but I think I have a date." Salesman: "She asked you out?" Corwin: "She asked me in, her place." Salesman: "Works fast. Is she agressive?" Corwin: "You could say that." Salesman: "Hah. Lucky guy." Corwin: "It's not like that. Well, it's not like that yet...I think."

Answer: There has been an increase in the number of ships disappearing along the Rim

Marcus: "What do you have for me?" Informant: "Message from Ranger One on Minbar. He recommends we go on a heightened state of alert and pull back from Earth space. Word is, something screwy's going on back home." Marcus: "This is not exactly a revelation. Anything else?" Informant: "Shadow vessels.

They were sighted in Sector 800 two days ago. It seems they're gathering, creating a border on the edge of Centauri space. Oh, and that package you've been asking about just left Mars. Should be here in about a week."

Answer: Vindrizi

The Vindrizi explain the nature of their existence to Franklin and Marcus: "It says we were created half a million years ago. Bred to be living records of all those we have seen and touched. For all that time we have travelled through the galaxy in our host bodies. We have seen double sunsets on worlds so far away you have no name for them. We remember music that was played before your kind learned to speak. Within us is the living memory, deeds and stories, civilizations and passions, wars and struggle, great beauty.

But in time even we die, unless we find shelter within other living beings. So, we seek out those who have nothing to look forward to, those whose lives are at an end, those who know they will be never more than they are now, those who will never know beauty, or peace, or purpose and we give them that. Through us they are born to a new life."

Answer: Macbeth

The following quote is from Macbeth, but Marcus substitutes his own name in. Marcus: "The gracious Duncan asleep by the gate. Methinks I hear a voice cry 'sleep no more' Marcus does murder sleep." Duncan: "You're a madman." Marcus: "Such has been said, but it was not I that gifted you with so ominous a name as Duncan. I doubt whether you've ever read the Scottish play, so the irony is lost. Typical."

Marcus and Franklin try to figure out a way to escape from their imprisonment by the Vindrizi. Franklin: "There are three of them with guns against two of us with nothing. They'll gun us down before we get half across the room." Marcus: "All we need is one of them to leave the room.

Then there will be only one man with the gun." Franklin: "Excuse me, where I come from, one man from three leaves two." Marcus: "Where I come from is a far more interesting place."

Here is the conversation between Corwin and Ivanova at their little meeting...later Ivanova lets Sheridan know that she didn't get the responses from Corwin that they were hoping for. Ivanova: "But sometimes you gotta bend the rules a little bit in order to get what you want. Does that idea bother you?" Corwin: "No, not really. I don't think the ends always justify the means, but if no one's hurt and if it's good for Earth, I've got no complaints." Ivanova: "That means a lot to you, doesn't it...serving Earth?" Corwin: "Well, sure.

It's why we're all here, to follow orders and do what's right for Earth." Ivanova: "What if there's a contradiction...if doing what's right for Earth and following orders aren't the same thing?" Corwin: "I don't think that's a decision I can make on my own. You can't just decide which orders to obey and which to ignore. We have to respect the chain of command, or everything falls apart." Ivanova: "So if you saw someone trying to get other officers to speak out...or even act against Earth Dome, you'd report them?" Corwin: "Absolutely. Why? Is there anyone you want me to keep my eye on?" Ivanova: " No, no.

It's just a hypothetical question. With everything that's been going on it's good to know where we all stand with each other."

Answer: Ivanova

Marcus: "I sense in her a key, as yet unturned." Franklin: "And what exactly does that mean?" Marcus: "I don't know. But I should think it would be fascinating to find out. [Franklin laughs] It wasn't that funny." Franklin: "Oh come on. I can't believe this. We're sitting here, guns pointed at our heads, walled up by alien parasites, neither of us likely to get out of here alive and you're thinking of making a play for Ivanova?" Marcus: "Can you think of a better time?" Franklin: "You're nuts, you know that? And I've got to be just as nuts sitting here talking about it at a time like this. Marcus, you are so far from being her type that you're practically in different galaxies."

Answer: Copeland J5000

Marcus: "You see that tube on the corner of the table there? That's a medical scanner, the Copeland J5000, very advanced. I was bringing it to him. You need to get it to him immediately. I know, I know, why should you believe me, it could be a weapon or something. Check it out yourself. Just look into the open end, yeah, then shake, shake it twice firmly to activate the scanner." [the Vindrizi does as suggested and gets a pike in the eye for his troubles]

Answer: Duncan

Duncan had given up his joining with the Vindrizi in order to convince Franklin and Marcus that the Vindrizi are trustworthy. Unsatisified with his former life, Duncan decides to head out and find something different. Duncan says this quote during his goodbyes to Marcus.
