Shane's teacher wanted $4000 worth of marijuana. When Shane tried to deliver it, he actually GAVE the man the weed before being paid! He drove off with all that weed (which did not belong to Shane at all) and Shane was left empty handed.

Esteban told Nancy that what would happen to Roy was not good or bad, right or wrong, that it just "is". He said that when they came together, they both chose whatever happened next. He said he would do anything to protect their life, and I guess that included killing another federal agent.
