Steer clear of Earth in the mid 22nd century, the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire in the year 200,000, and - unsurprisingly - the Time War. Also, never ever go to Skaro, the original planet of the Daleks.

Answer: The sun emits x-tonic radiation.

Midnight has an x-tonic sun which would vaporise anyone who stepped outside. The Leisure Palace was lowered down from above, and is the perfect place for relaxation. It has restaurants and spas, and provides a sight-seeing trip to the astounding sapphire waterfalls.

Answer: vortex

Vortex manipulators are favoured among Time Agents. They allow the user to take short hops through the time vortex in order to reach their preferred destination. An initial short hop to the future is recommended: the effects of travelling through the time vortex in this way can have some unpleasant physical effects.

Answer: Marco Polo

Like you, Marco Polo was a traveller. He provided a detailed record of the places he visited, and meeting such a pioneer as him should be on every time traveller's bucket list. Bear in mind that 13th century Earth is pre-space travel; talk of complex scientific processes may cause confusion there. Also, non-humanoid travellers might experience a distasteful welcome from the locals.

Answer: Jelly babies

Jelly babies were a 19th century English creation, but now they can be found in a number of cuisines around the universe. They are soft, sugary sweets which come in a variety of colours. Jelly babies have been recommended by Time Lords, and can be used as a distraction in sticky situations.

Answer: Platform One.

Tickets are pricey, but worth it to see the local system's sun expand and consume one of the universe's most famous planets. Platform One is a purpose-built space station orbiting Earth. It allows those aboard an unobstructed view in a completely safe environment. The last human, Lady Cassandra, is rumoured to be a guest.

Answer: London

Beware of what lies under the ice in London. Reports are hazy, but it seems a vast number of people were lured onto the River Thames in 1814. Many visitors disappeared at the fair, leading to rumours that there was a huge monster lurking under the ice. It's probably nonsense, but better safe than sorry!

Answer: A theme park

In its heyday, Hedgewick's World of Wonders was the greatest theme park in the galaxy. Some of the park's highlights are:

- the Spacey Zoomer Ride, an anti-gravity ride resembling the Earth's moon
- Natty Longshoe's Comical Castle, a real but comical castle
- a water world.

The park also has a hotel onsite, making longer visits a possibility. Just make sure you leave before the Cybermen invade the area.

Answer: An astral map

Most spaceships have their own navigation systems, but mechanical and electrical failures are always a possibility. A portable back-up is a good shout if you're worried about ending up in the wrong place! An astral map records the locations of planets and stars. It can access information contained on some spaceship computers, but check the system requirements before making a purchase.
