Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 'A Christmas Carol' Kazran refused to save Amy, Rory, and the other people onboard the spaceship that was about to crash land on a planet. What did the Doctor do next?

Answer: He traveled back in time to change Kazran's personality.

The Doctor turned up in Kazran's bedroom when he was a young boy. The older Kazran felt his memories changing as the Doctor introduced him to a fish of 'big colour'. They also awakened Abigail from cryogenesis and celebrated Christmas over and over again in lots of different ways.
2. In 'The Impossible Astronaut', the Doctor turned up in the Oval Office and the President wasn't too happy with him. Not until he offered to help find the source of a series of mysterious phone calls. After consulting some maps, the Doctor jumped back into the TARDIS. Where did he go next?

Answer: Florida

The Doctor goes to Florida because 'that's where the spacemen live'. The little girl who had been calling the President said a spaceman was trying to eat her. Amy thought that it might be the same spaceman she had seen kill the Doctor by the lake, and tried to change the future in 'Day of the Moon' so that the Doctor didn't have to die.
3. Rory fell into the ocean and was taken by the Siren in 'The Curse of the Black Spot'. In order to rescue him, what did the Doctor do?

Answer: He cut his hand to make the Siren take him too.

The Siren was a futuristic automated doctor who was trying to cure human illnesses and injuries. Rory was drowning in the ocean when the Siren rescued him and put him on a life support machine on her own ship. The only way the Doctor, Amy, and the Captain could get onboard to save their friends was to injure themselves.
4. There was a knock on the TARDIS door and the Doctor was surprised to find he'd got mail. Who did he try to save next in 'The Doctor's Wife'?

Answer: The Corsair

The 'mail' was a Time Lord distress signal. The Doctor was excited that there might have been another of his species left, but wary because he knew there probably wasn't. The TARDIS crew ventured off into a bubble universe to save the lost Time Lords. As well as the Corsair, the Doctor tried to save Idris, Amy, Rory, Auntie, Uncle, and Nephew ('Another Ood I failed to save...').
5. At the beginning of the series, Amy told the Doctor that she was pregnant, but later said that she had made a mistake. The TARDIS couldn't decided whether she was or wasn't pregnant and the Doctor became suspicious. So what did he do in 'The Rebel Flesh' and 'The Almost People'?

Answer: He went to a 22nd century factory that used doppelgängers.

It turned out that the 'real' Amy had been abducted and replaced with a Flesh avatar. The Doctor took Amy and Rory to a factory inside a disused monastery that pumped dangerous acid from an island onto the mainland. For protection, the workers used the Flesh to create near-perfect copies of themselves while working with the acid.

The Doctor discovered that the Amy who had been onboard the TARDIS since they were in America was actually a Flesh doppelgänger.
6. At the end of 'A Good Man Goes to War', the Doctor finds out River Song's true identity. He flew away on a particular mission, but was unable to succeed in 'Let's Kill Hitler'. What did he attempt to do?

Answer: He tried to rescue Melody Pond.

'River Song' was a translation of 'Melody Pond', Amy and Rory's daughter. The Doctor attempted to find Melody and bring her back to her parents, but he was unable to find her. It didn't matter too much because in 'Let's Kill Hitler' it turned out that Amy's best friend, Mels, was actually her daughter, Melody! Both Amy and Rory had played a big role in Melody's upbringing through being childhood friends.
7. Amy was trapped in a different time stream to the Doctor and Rory on Apalapucia. The Doctor couldn't go into the main hospital complex because of an outbreak of Chen 7, a plague that affected anyone with two hearts (like the Doctor). While stuck in the TARDIS, what did he do in 'The Girl Who Waited'?

Answer: He sent Rory into the hospital instead.

So that those infected with the plague could live out their lives, patients were put in accelerated time streams. Decades would pass for them, whereas their loved ones would only experience a day. Amy got stuck in an accelerated time stream, and once Rory had found her, she had aged 36 years.

The Doctor then had to decide whether to let the older Amy back on board, or try to find a way of rescuing the younger version.
8. Inside each hotel room in 'The God Complex' is something designed to challenge an individual's faith. Joe put his faith in luck, Rita put her faith in religion, and Howie put his faith in conspiracy theories. In Amy's room, Amelia was sitting by the window waiting for the Doctor to come back, so how did the Doctor try to defeat the Minotaur?

Answer: He convinced Amy not to trust in him.

Originally, the Doctor thought that holding onto beliefs would prevent the Minotaur from attacking, but he eventually realised that his theory was wrong. The Minotaur fed on people's faith. Each room was designed to terrify a person so much that they would rely on their beliefs to save them.

Their reliance on their belief was what enabled the Minotaur to possess them. To defeat it, the Doctor convinced Amy that he couldn't save her. She lost her faith in him, breaking the spell and killing the Minotaur.
9. The Doctor knew he was going to die soon, so went on a farewell tour to say goodbye to some of his friends. Who did he visit in 'Closing Time'?

Answer: Craig Owens

The Doctor visited Craig, who first appeared in 'The Lodger'. He arrived at Craig's new house to say goodbye, but noticed a problem with the electricity in the area. After some investigation he uncovered a Cyberman spaceship buried beneath a department store.
10. In 'The Wedding of River Song' the Doctor asked the Teselecta to deliver invitations to Amy, Rory, River, Canton, and a younger version of himself. They were the blue envelopes seen in 'The Impossible Astronaut' inviting them all to the Doctor's death. What else did the Doctor ask of the Teselecta?

Answer: become the Doctor at the scene of his death

Right at the start of the episode we see the Doctor handing the envelopes to the Teselecta, but it's not until the very end that we see he also asks for another favour. River Song alters a fixed point in time because she doesn't want to kill the Doctor. Touching each other, however, will restart time and everything will go back to normal. River didn't want to lose the Doctor, so he suggested that they get married there and then.

He told Amy and Rory that he whispered his real name to River, but he actually said 'Look into my eye'. River realised that the Doctor is actually the Teselecta.

It was the robot that appeared to die, not the Time Lord.
