Lee told Bill that the DA in Meeker asked that Bill come to Joey's hearing the next day because they had evidence of Bill's involvement in a cover up. Lee didn't know what evidence they had, and Bill denied that they had any evidence. Bill later went to see Joey, and was stunned when Joey told him about the tape Roman had made of Bill's conversation with Joey.

While visiting Joey, Bill encouraged him to get Wanda to confess, but Joey refused. Bill was trying to get out of testifying the next day, and tried to convince Wanda that he had spoken to Joey earlier, and Joey had said Wanda should confess. When Wanda asked where he ate, he replied, "Arby's", and Wanda then asked if it was in Meeker. After Bill said yes, Wanda said there was no Arby's in Meeker, and hung up on him.

Roman decided to give the tape of Bill implicating himself to the Meeker DA. Adaleen questioned whether he really wanted to do this to the husband of their daughter, and he told her to find the tape. Roman and Adaleen were checking one particular tape, and each time Adaleen stopped the tape to check it, all that could be heard was Roman discussing cheese for the apocalypse.

When Adaleen said she was sure this was the right tape, Roman said, rather sarcastically, "No, this conversation is about cheese".

The DA was pushing for a written confession from Bill about the cover up, and the name of the actual poisoner. He recommended that Bill write the confession or risk going to trial, then asked if "Mr. Untouchable" was having a crisis of confidence. Joey had told Bill that Bill had referred to himself as "Mr. Cover up" on the tape, so Bill knew the DA didn't have the tape.

He spoke with Lee in the hall and told him that the DA didn't have anything on him.

After overhearing Roman's message to Nicki, Margene accused Nicki of trying to give Rhonda back to Roman. Nicki told Margene that Roman was the one who had exposed the family, prompting Margene to insist that Nicki had to tell Barb and Bill. Nicki promised she would, but the next day when Barb told Margene that she had to go to the halfway house, Margene realized that Nicki hadn't told her anything. Nicki quickly arranged to give Rhonda to her creepy second cousin, explaining to Margene that Rhonda was the one who put Roman up to exposing the family. Barb was already at the halfway house discussing options with April Blessing when Margene and Nicki arrived. Shortly after that, Adaleen and two Juniper Creek police officers got there. Adaleen insulted Nicki, and then disowned her after Nicki said that Roman was the one who had exposed Nicki's family.

Stung by Roman's accusation that her lack of kindness towards Rhonda was the cause of Rhonda running away, Adaleen hid the tape so it couldn't be given to the DA. At the courthouse, Bill realized the DA didn't have the tape, but Lee pointed out that they could still get it. Bill made a call to Adaleen, asking her for the tape.

She pulled it out of her purse and looked at it, told Bill there was no tape, and destroyed it.

Bill told Lois that unless Wanda confessed, all of them could be in trouble. Wanda listened sympathetically while Lois talked about how she wanted to use her gun to take care of the DA because he was persecuting Joey. Wanda tucked Lois' gun in the baby carrier when she went to the courthouse with Lois.

After Bill spoke to Adaleen, he was standing in a stairwell at the courthouse when Wanda walked up to him holding out Lois' gun. He hurriedly took the gun and hid it in his jacket while Wanda explained that it was his mother's gun and she was going to shoot the DA, before walking off.
