Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. From "Blackadder II": "Never had anything you doctors didn't try to cure with leeches. A leech on my ear for ear ache, a leech on my bottom for constipation..."

Answer: Lord Blackadder

In the episode titled "Bells," Lord Edmund Blackadder falls in love with his manservant, who is in fact a young woman disguised as a boy. Worried about this unusual attraction, he ends up to the doctor's office. The doctor was excited to inform him that "an extraordinary new cure has just been developed for exactly this kind of sordid problem". Edmund asked if it included leeches, only to surprise the doctor, who said: "I had no idea you were a medical man!". The quote above is Blackadder's reaction to that.
2. From "The Cavalier Years": "Baldrick, your brain is like the four headed, man-eating haddock fish beast of Aberdeen. It doesn't exist."

Answer: Sir E. Blackadder

One of the most famous verbal assaults of the whole series. From the 15 minute special "The Cavalier Years", Blackadder said that to Baldrick, after the following dialogue took place:
Blackadder: "Our property will be forfeit and we'll be for the
chop."
Baldrick: "Ooh, I love chops..."
3. From "Blackadder the Third": "Swords! What do you think this is, the middle ages? Only girls fight with swords these days. Stand by your gun sir. Hup, two, three. Hup, two, three."

Answer: Duke of Wellington

This one is from the episode "Duel and Duality" the final one of the third series. When the Duke of Wellington challenges the Prince to a duel, Blackadder tries to save the day, by pretending he is the Prince. He did, of course, as he was the only winner of this duel. Prince George was killed eventually and Edmund just took advantage of the poor Prince's death. The quote is taken from the duel scene, in which Blackadder was forced to use a cannon instead of a sword!
4. From "Blackadder Goes Forth": "Well cover me in egg and flour and bake me for 14 minutes!"

Answer: Lieutenant George

In this episode Blackadder is on a mission to find a German spy, hidden in the military hospital. This was George's hilarious reaction when he discovered that the German spy was the sweet and innocent Nurse Mary! The episode's title is "General Hospital".
5. From "Blackadder Goes Forth": "Hear the words I sing, War's a horrid thing, But still I sing, sing, sing, Ding a ling a ling."

Answer: Private Baldrick

Yes... this is Baldrick's poetry, an untitled masterpiece. Here is Blackadder's review on the poem: "Yes. Well, it started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle and the less said about the end, the better. But, apart than that, it was excellent." From the final episode of the series titled "Goodbyeee".
6. From "Blackadder the Third": "I hate you English. With your boring trousers and your shiny toilet paper and your ridiculous preconceptions that Frenchmen are great lovers."

Answer: A French revolutionary

In this episode, "Nob and Nobility", Blackadder is on a mission to find and save a French aristocrat from the guillotine, during the French Revolution. He tries to do it without leaving his home and still manages to get imprisoned, by a French revolutionary! The quote was the reply of the French, to Blackadder's request to just let him go, as he had nothing against him.
7. From "Blackadder II": "I may have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a concrete elephant."

Answer: Queen Elizabeth

This one is from the episode titled "Beer", in which Lord Blackadder tries to win a drinking competition. At the same time he is dining with the horribly puritanical aunt of his and her husband, trying to be as ethical and quiet as possible, so as to have the chance to get a "whoopee-great inheritance"! Queenie shows up to the drinking competition, and makes that statement, to which someone of the bunch replied "prove it".

The Queen's answer wasn't anything like everyone hoped or expected. She said that she would prove it indeed, after she had a little "drinkie" and then execute "the whole bally" of them!
8. From "Blackadder the Third": "Oh no! What a mad blundering, incredibly handsome young nincompoop I've been!"

Answer: Prince George

Prince George says that, when he discovers how much he needs his butler, (who is Blackadder of course), seconds after he insults him and causes his resignation, by calling him "Mr. Thicky Black Thicky Adder Thicky"! This happened in the hilarious episode, called "Sense and Senility".
9. From "Blackadder II": "Don't be ridiculous, Baldrick. You know me. I mean, I laugh in the face of fear and tweak the nose of the dreadful spindly killer fish."

Answer: Lord Percy

Jealous of the heroic traveller Sir Raleigh, Blackadder promises the Queen that he'll return from a life threatening epic journey and bring a present to her. His intentions are to just sail around and come back after some months as a great hero. Unfortunately, he ends up with a half-crazy captain on a ship that has no crew... The quote comes from a scene in which a very nervous Percy is trying to avoid going to this "little trip", claiming he had an appointment to have his nostrils plucked... next year.

When Baldrick mentioned that he thought he was a complete coward, Percy said that he usually laughs in the face of fear etc, etc. From the episode titled "Potato".
10. From "Blackadder Goes Forth": "Good luck everyone."

Answer: Captain Blackadder

From the episode titled "Goodbyeee". This is the famous last quote of the whole series. Blackadder says that and then blows his whistle. The soldiers run to meet their destiny on the battleground, in an extremely serious and moving scene.
