As its name implies, the show travels from city to city, allowing local residents to bring their collectibles in for evaluation. Most viewers look forward to certain types of items; personally, I enjoy the jewelry and the musical instruments.

To transition viewers from from program segments to commercial breaks and back, Adult Swim will often present "bumps", short commentaries on various topics in the format of a slide show (usually white lettering on black backgrounds, with the occasional photograph, all to the accompaniment of suitably eclectic music). I find myself watching almost as much for the bumps as for the programming itself.

I made up "Pentagrams," but "20Q" and "Chain Reaction" are real programs that air on GSN.

Part of "Lingo" involves the contestants drawing rubber balls printed with numbers that correspond to numbers on the game board. They need to get five numbers in a row to make a "Lingo" - like bingo. Get it? Most of the balls are blue in color, but if you draw a red one (called a "stopper"), you lose your turn and play passes to the other team.

In addition to the "Head Mythbusters" (Jamie and Adam), the show includes a second group of Mythbusters: Tory, Grant, and Kari. They also carry out experiments and conduct research in an effort to prove or disprove the "myths" suggested by the show's producers and fans.

Some classic myths explored over the course of the series are the rocket car, the construction worker's plywood parachute, and Mentos + Diet Coke = a mammoth fountain of bubbles.

Answer: "American Dad"

Seth MacFarlane, whose voice talent is so versatile it's almost scary, plays Stan Smith (the title character) as well as Roger the Alien. Also known for his controversial "Family Guy" series, MacFarlane is truly a master of vocal disguise.

Answer: "Modern Marvels"

"Modern Marvels" is narrated by Max Raphael, who narrates other History Channel series as well. Most regular viewers can readily recognize his distinctive and pleasantly intense voice.

The series has run for many years, and has covered hundreds of diverse topics, including "Air Force One," "Casino Tech," "Magnets," and "Coffee."

Answer: "Sell This House"

The mania over home improvement and "house-flipping" series has waned, following a few years of numerous competing series choking the airwaves.
