Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What did John Carter do to incur the wrath of Donald Anspaugh at the beginning of this episode?

Answer: Carter informed him that he was considering leaving the hospital's surgical program

At the beginning of this episode, John Carter nervously informed the Chief of Staff, Donald Anspaugh that he was "contemplating leaving the surgical program". Carter said that he not only believed that he had made an error "in selecting surgery" as his specialty, but also suspected that Anspaugh himself would agree with him. Anspaugh retorted with "I certainly do not!", before launching into an angry speech in which he berated Carter for acting like a child. Reminding Carter that surgery was "not summer camp", he told him that he could not "just run home to Mommy", but had "to suck it up and stick to it".

A few more angry remarks followed, culminating in Anspaugh marching furiously out of his own office.
2. Which member of staff was looking for a place to live?

Answer: Anna Del Amico

As Anna Del Amico was looking for a place to live in the West Side, Doug Ross told her to ask Carol for help as she grew up there. The resulting conversation between Anna and Carol revealed that Anna came from a large family. Having seven brothers, she remarked that she knew how to "wrap a mean diaper". Despite her meager budget, she also stated that she was looking forward to living alone, having already shared a bathroom for "four years undergrad, four med" and "three Peds".
3. The police arrested Mark Greene's attacker in this episode.

Answer: False

During this episode two policemen came to the hospital to speak to Mark, having "picked up a guy at Mercy" who "mugged a doctor in the parking lot". Reasoning that this could have been the same person who attacked him, the police showed Mark a number of snapshots, before asking if he recognised any of the faces in front of him. Mark did pick out one picture as a possibility, but could not say for sure that it was the face of his assailant.
4. The familiar face of teenage tearaway, Charlie Chiemienga, turned up at the ER in this episode. Why was she brought to the hospital?

Answer: She was admitted due to a drug overdose

Charlie Chiemienga, (played by Kirsten Dunst), was brought to the ER by paramedics after being found in ""Grant Park, facedown in the mud". Later, while Doug Ross was on the phone with Charlie's caseworker, a shady individual named Tommy asked Doug to tell Charlie that he would be "on the corner after 10". He also informed Doug that Charlie's mother was in prison for "possession".
5. "I hear you had a meltdown today. You picked a fight with the lounge". Who was Doug Ross speaking to when he said this?

Answer: Mark Greene

Doug Ross said these words to Mark Greene after Mark smashed up the lounge, following a visit from the police. One officer had suggested that Mark seek some counselling from a victim support group, but Mark assured the police officer that he did not need it and was fine. However once the police left the lounge, Mark picked up a chair and threw it across the room, before then proceeding to pick up a variety of other items and smash them against the wall.
6. Kerry Weaver initially disapproved of the fact that Jeanie and Al Boulet had revived their relationship.

Answer: True

When Al came into the ER to find out what time his ex-wife would be home for dinner, Kerry seemed shocked to see him and Jeanie so chummy. Stating rather pointedly that she and Jeanie had "some catching up to do", Kerry face was rather stern as she wheeled a newly admitted patient away. Later on when Kerry probed further, Jeanie asked her if she approved. Kerry responded by asking if it mattered whether or not she approved, prompting Jeanie to say that it did matter to her. Kerry then said that it would help if she understood, which allowed Jeanie to explain to her that she was happier than she had ever been before, and loved Al more than anything.
7. Where in the hospital did Jackie Robbins find her brother, Peter Benton?

Answer: In the hospital's church

Peter's sister, Jackie, found Peter sitting alone on a pew in the hospital's church. When Peter asked how she found him, she said that it wasn't very hard, as it was what he used to do when he was a child. Finally opening up, Peter responded that he had no idea that having a baby was going to be so hard, particularly as the baby could have "brain damage, developmental problems" or autism. Trying to comfort her brother, Jackie told Peter that "either way", he was "gonna love him more than" he could imagine.
8. Which of the following pairs went out onto the street to look for Charlie after she ran away from the ER?

Answer: Anna and Doug

After Charlie escaped from the ER, Anna and Doug went out to look for her. However, although they talked to a number of people who knew her and Tommy, they did not succeed in finding them, as they were most likely holed up and unlikely to "come out until they" needed to score.
9. Where was Mark Greene when he pointed a gun at a gang of youths, and ordered them to "back off!"?

Answer: At the train station

On the train, Mark was accosted by a group of youths, whose behaviour was rather threatening. Although they pestered him for money, Mark refused to give them any and promptly got off the train. However the youths followed him, causing Mark to panic and reach for his gun. He pointed the gun at the gang, forcing them to get back on the train.
10. With whom did Carol Hathaway share a passionate kiss at the end of the episode?

Answer: Doug Ross

Early on in the episode Doug asked Carol if she wanted to get "some oysters at Shaw's", only to discover that she had a date with Toby Minz, another doctor at the hospital. When Doug saw Carol all dressed up for her date he could not take his eyes off her, and was clearly jealous. Finally, at the end of the episode he turned up on her doorstep and kissed her passionately. Although a little surprised at first, Carol did not shy away and was soon kissing him back.
