Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When Odie ran away from home and spent a considerable amount of time with Billy Bob (a broke man who was the target of the bully Bruce), what song was the episode presented as a parody of?

Answer: Convoy

The episode was "Truckin' Odie". That probably makes the answer a little more obvious.

Garfield did not participate in this episode except to act as the banjo-playing narrator. While trying to escape Bruce, who was trying to steal Billy Bob's cargo, Odie accidentally fell onto the brake, stopping the truck on a bridge. Billy Bob swerved to avoid them and ended up driving into the river.
2. A salesman attempted to sell Jon a magazine subscription, as Jon's name was next on his list of potential clients. What was the last name of the person directly before Jon on the list?

Answer: Boyle

Jon subscribed very quickly because he thought that the salesman would leave him alone after that. Of course, once you subscribe to a magazine, you're subscribed FOREVER!
3. When Orson read a phone book, Wade was attacked by an area code. Which one?

Answer: 213

All of the choices are California area codes.

When Orson read a book, his imagination got carried away with him, and the reality around him changed to match. When Orson read a horror story, the farm became a haunted graveyard. When he read a book set in ancient Egypt, pyramids surrounded Roy and Wade. You'd think reading a phone book would be safe.
4. What did the creature that lived behind the mayonnaise, next to the ketchup, and to the left of the coleslaw grow right after Labor Day?

Answer: Hands

After yet another of his attempts to create a new recipe, Jon stuck his latest concoction in the refrigerator, where it grew and mutated for months. Eventually it became a threat to Jon's and Garfield's well-being, but Garfield was able to defeat it with a small, open box of baking soda. Every person in America should have one in their own refrigerator in order to prevent similar calamities from happening to them.
5. When did Garfield trick-or-treat at Mr. Burnside's house?

Answer: April 9

Garfield got an entire roast beef dinner out of this! This was one of the many stories Mr. Burnside related to the judge after being arrested for causing a public disturbance, which he did during a fit of insanity caused by too many of Garfield's antics.
6. What sound does a buggy-eyed razor-beaked fnark make?

Answer: Fnark

Duh.

The fnark was a giant, orange, sharp-toothed bird that would eat anything that moves. I know what you're thinking, and no. Garfield isn't a bird.

The fnark made multiple appearances, including as a potential threat to Garfield and Odie in "The Multiple-Choice Cartoon" and in the form of Garfield in "All Things Fat and Small".
7. When Jon took a date to a fancy French restaurant (without any knowledge of the French language), what did he inadvertently order?

Answer: The chef

After screwing up yet another date, Jon decided to go on a "Love Connection"-type game show where his dream date would be calculated via supercomputer. However, the show was rigged, and his lovely date was supposed to humiliate Jon by dumping him for millions of people around the world to see. Fortunately, Garfield found out about this and ruined Jon's date, angering the woman so much that she revealed the scheme on the next show, embarrassing the host and producers instead of Jon.
8. What was the name of the cat owned by the man serving barbecued ribs in "Cute for Loot"?

Answer: Madison

When Garfield realized that passersby would randomly give Nermal stuff (due to his extreme cuteness), he decided to exploit this for his own alimentary needs. Unfortunately, it never worked. At the last house he tried, he posed as a cute kitten in Nermal's place, but the cat living at that house mailed him to Abu Dhabi. Turnabout is fair play, indeed.
9. What was the name of the half-hour commercial disguised as a TV show because "we figure you're all too stupid to notice"?

Answer: Incredible Findings

The show was really a commercial for Sylvia's Diet Center, which purported to have the most delicious diet food in existence. As it turned out, it accomplished this by serving that food in microscopic portions. It didn't taste very good, either.
10. Which of these Schlocko! products was NOT advertised during "The First Annual Garfield Watchers Test"?

Answer: The Schlocko! Slap-o-Matic

In exchange for heaps of cash, Garfield allowed Schlocko! to sponsor this episode... that is, until it was revealed that Schlocko! made a lasagna substitute that did not contain tomatoes, cheese, noodles, or food. Garfield refused to stand for this and got rid of the spokesmouse.
