Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which title character is the first to speak in this episode?

Answer: Kim

The very first words heard are actually from the Computer, "Regeneration cycle incomplete." However, the first title character to speak is Harry Kim in the briefing room, "When I checked the overnight sensor logs, this little surprise was waiting for me."
2. Seven catches Naomi Wildman following her around. Fill in the word that correctly completes this quote from Seven to Naomi: "Naomi Wildman, _________ of Ensign Samantha Wildman, state your intentions."

Answer: subunit

Naomi confesses that she was observing Seven so that she could learn how to be perfect, thus becoming Captain Janeway's bridge assistant.
3. Eventually Seven begins acting peculiarly. When she is taken to sickbay, how many new neural patterns does the Doctor find in her cerebral cortex?

Answer: 13

The Doctor explains that, while a Borg drone, any assimilated person's neural patterns were integrated into Seven's mind and stored in her cortical implant.
4. List the following 'personalities' of Seven in the order in which we see her first portray them (ignoring repeats): 1 - Ferengi (DaiMon Torrot) 2 - little girl (Maryl) 3 - Klingon (son of K'Vok) 4 - Vulacn high commander (Subaltern Lorot)

Answer: 3, 2, 4, 1

The episode starts with Seven as the Klingon destroying the mess hall in search of meat. She then plays kadis-kot with Naomi Wildman as the little girl. While she returns to the Klingon and little girl again, the next personality she presents is of the member of the Vulcan High Command.

The last of the listed personalities that she portrays is of the Ferengi interested in buying the viewscreen in astrometrics.
5. What is the Borg designation of the species that is responsible for infecting the Borg vinculum with the viral agent?

Answer: Species 6339

We learn that Species 6339 is a humanoid, warp-capable species from grid 124, octant 22-theta. In the four years since they encountered the Borg, 11 billion have been assimilated.

Species 6961 refers to Katarians, as we learn in the episode "Dark Frontier". Naomi Wildman is half Katarian. Species 5174 is from the episode "Hunters", and it refers to a species that the Borg found on a ship eviscerated (by the Hirogen). Species 6291 refers to the devious Yridians, as discovered in the episode "Equinox". They were most well known for being information merchants and smugglers.
6. One of Seven's "personalities" is of a distraught mother looking for her son. What is the son's last name?

Answer: Bergan

Lt. Gregory Bergan served on the starship Melbourne, and was assimilated at Wolf 359.

Stone is the last name of the ensign whose personal log Seven recorded. He served under Captain Blackwood on the starship Tombaugh. Albert is the last name of the cadet killed while attempting to do the forbidden Kolvoord Starburst maneuver in "The First Duty". Pazlar is the last name of the ensign who is the first Elaysian Starfleet officer. She was sent to Deep Space 9 to study a sector of the Gamma Quadrant (see the episode "Melora").
7. Which of the following species was not mentioned as one of Seven's "personalities"?

Answer: Hirogen

There is no mention of a Hirogen personality.

The Doctor mentions seeing Terrelian neural patterns in the 13 original patterns detected in Seven's cortical implant. Janeway later tells Chakotay that she "swapped jokes with a Bolian manicurist" and "debating the finer points of temporal physics with a Krenim scientist."
8. Torres and Tuvok attempt to terminate the power of the vinculum. What is the lowest percent that the vinculum's power output gets to before they have to abort the procedure?

Answer: 71%

While the damping field appears to work at first, the vinculum eventually adapts. It reroutes the internal circuitry to avoid the damping field.
9. How does the Doctor describe Vulcan mind melds?

Answer: Mumbo jumbo

The Doctor is shocked that Captain Janeway even considers the idea that Tuvok could perform a mind meld with Seven. Janeway tells Tuvok to begin the two hours of meditation that he needs to perform the meld immediately.
10. Which of the following is a direct task that Seven gives Naomi Wildman at the conclusion of the episode?

Answer: Instruct Seven how to play kadis-kot.

Several of the options are very close to what Seven asks Naomi to do. She instructs her to familiarize herself with the next THREE star systems that Voyager will pass through and to study the sociological data regarding 173 Delta Quadrant species!

Besides learning kadis-kot, Seven explains that the other tasks will be relevant if Naomi Wildman is a bridge assistant.
