Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As season six headed for a close, JR and Walt Driscoll's attempt to make $40 million dollars from an illegal sell of oil to Cuba is foiled. Which two people were the architects of this plan?

Answer: Bobby Ewing and Ray Krebbs

Holly did deliver the information to Bobby, but it was he and Ray that carried out the plan to stop Walt Driscoll from meeting their Cuban contact in Puerto Rico. As Walt was headed to the airport, Ray ran into his car and caused a minor accident. The police showed up and took Walt to jail, because Bobby had planted a briefcase with illegal concealed weapons in the front seat of the car while no one was looking.

This happened in the episode "The Sting".
2. After being kidnapped and raped by Roger in season five, Lucy was celibate for months afterward. Was Mitch the first man Lucy made love with after being raped?

Answer: No

Lucy made love with Mickey Trotter in the episode "The Sting" in season six. This episode aired almost a year exactly after the episode of Lucy's kidnap. "Vengeance" aired March 12, 1982 and "The Sting" aired March 11, 1983. Timothy Patrick Murphy (Mickey) died just over 5 years later on December 6, 1988.
3. In the episode "Things Ain't Goin' Too Good at Southfork," we see Sue Ellen end many months of sobriety with what drink?

Answer: Vodka

After much orchestration on the part of Holly Harwood, Sue Ellen finally catches JR in bed with Holly. Holly sees Sue Ellen, but JR does not. Sue Ellen leaves, heads for the nearest bar and orders a predictable glass of vodka.
4. In "Things Ain't Goin' Too Good at Southfork," Sue Ellen leaves Southfork after a drunken confrontation with JR. She gets hit by another driver as she is leaving the ranch. Is John Ross the passenger in the car with her?

Answer: No

It was Mickey Trotter in the car with Sue Ellen. He jumped in it at the last minute, attempting to stop her from drunk driving. He is critically injured.
5. In the finale episode of season six, "Ewing Inferno," we find out who was in the car that hit Sue Ellen. Who was the culprit?

Answer: Walt Driscoll

Walt wanted to kill JR and believed it was JR in the car as it left Southfork. When Walt realizes what his actions did to an innocent Mickey Trotter, he leaves a confession letter and commits suicide.
6. Who started the fire at Southfork in "Ewing Inferno"?

Answer: JR

After another drunken argument with a repentant JR, Sue Ellen tosses a bottle of liquor at him. It hits the wall going up the staircase and JR brings in a crew to have it fixed before Miss Ellie and Clayton return from their trip. Later, after Ray finds out that JR is the cause of Mickey being paralyzed and unconscious he confronts JR in the sitting room at Southfork. JR quickly realizes that Ray may kill him and starts their fight off by throwing a candelabra at Ray.

It misses him and crashes down and bursts into flames.

As the two men fight, the fire grows out of control very fast. The show ends with both JR and Ray unconscious, Sue Ellen and John Ross asleep in their beds, and the fate of all four hanging in the balance. Another wonderful "Dallas" cliffhanger!
7. In the season seven premier, "Long Road Back," who is it that arrives just in time to save JR, Sue Ellen, John Ross, and Ray from the fire?

Answer: Bobby

Bobby jumps into the pool to wet himself before he attempts to rescue whomever may be inside. According to JR, the smoke alarms inside the house were directly tapped into the fire department and that saved the house itself from being totally destroyed.
8. After hearing about the fire at Southfork, which of the Ewings is the first person Pam goes to see?

Answer: Sue Ellen

Mark Graison informs Pam about the fire and she immediately calls out to the ranch. She gets Bobby on the phone, finds out everyone made it out alive, and then goes to a hotel to check on Sue Ellen. She then takes Sue Ellen out to shop for some new clothes, since hers were lost in the fire.
9. In the season seven premier JR and Bobby attempt to end the contest over Ewing Oil.

Answer: True

The boys ask Harve Smithfield if it would be possible to draw up a legal document declaring that contest null and void. Harve explains there is nothing he can legally do, because it would be a contest of Jock's last will. He also tells them they'll have to wait out that remaining one month to see who wins control (51 percent) of Ewing Oil.
10. Which main character dies in the premier episode of season seven?

Answer: None of these

Mickey actually wakes up from his coma at the very end of the episode. Bobby is not killed until the end of season eight, and Mark's last episode is the season nine finale "Blast From The Past", where Bobby makes his return!
