No one believes Emma when she says there was a wolf on the road. We later learn that the wolf is the companion of the Huntsman in the other realm. Sheriff Graham is the Huntsman, which is why he sees the wolf when he starts to remember his other life. The wolf also has one black eye.

When creating the curse, Rumpelstiltskin places a single drop of his "true love" potion on the parchment. This is why Emma is able to escape and come back to break the curse. The curse is unleashed by the Evil Queen. Maleficent had the curse in her possession for a little while, after a deal with the Evil Queen, but the Queen stole it back from her.

Regina's mother wants her to marry the King, Snow White's father, so she sweet talks a young Snow White into telling her about Regina's love. Pinocchio is only 7 years old when he goes through the wardrobe. He takes baby Emma to a nearby diner and they are both placed in the foster system. Pinocchio is supposed to stay with Emma, and guide her to her destiny of breaking the curse, but he is young, and the troubles of the foster system are too much.

When given the chance, he escapes with some other kids. Later in life he returns to try and guide an adult Emma to her destiny.
