Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race 3" Quiz

For the race's first Road Block, teams were instructed to make their way to Cozumel, Mexico to find Chankanaab Park. Once there, one member of each team was required to strip down to a bathing suit and swim into a lagoon full of dolphins to find their clue along the bottom. Arianne, Michael, Zach, Heather, Gerard, John Vito, Damon, Ian, Andrew, and Tramel completed this Road Block. Neither Derek nor drew completed this Road Block because they claimed the second Fast Forward clue of the Race in Mexico City.

After this Road Block teams were told to make their way to the Pit Stop, the Diamante K Bungalows in Tulum, Mexico.

Answer: Three

In Leg 3, teams made their way to northwestern Scotland for the leg's Road Block task outside Dunnottar Castle. Once here, members needed to complete three different Scottish Highland Games events: the caber toss, the hammer throw, and the shotput. Once team members successfully finished all three according to the rules, teams received their clue and raced on foot to the third Pit Stop within Dunnottar Castle itself.

Heather, Derek, Ken, Aaron, Zach, Michael, Jill, Teri, and Andre all finished this Road Block task before checking in though none of these team members were eliminated in this leg. Dennis and Andrew, who took the Fast Forward, were actually eliminated here.

Answer: Portugal

In Leg 4, teams proceeded to Lisbon, Portugal at which point they were supposed to take a taxi from the train station to Estadio do Restelo, Gate F. When teams arrived, they found the Road Block task requiring that racers hop in front of a soccer net and block a penalty shot from a teenage Portuguese soccer player. Once this shot was intercepted, teams could run to the Pit Stop, the Torre de Belem. Ken, Zach, John Vito, Damon, Drew, Heather, Michael, Ian, and Arianne were responsible for completing this task.

In Leg 5, teams arrived at the Old City in Fez, Morocco where they were given their Road Block task. In this Road Block, team members needed to find Dar Dbagh Chouara Tannery in the Old City and search in twenty-five marked vats for one of three to contain clues to their next destination, the fifth Pit Stop and the Borj Nord Fortress. Gerard, Andre, Drew, John Vito, Ian, Zach, and Aaron obtained the clue and finished the task, but neither Michael nor Kathy participated because they were unable to reach the country of Morocco before the rest of the teams finished the leg.

As a result they were eliminated having been unable to complete the task.

Answer: Escargot

In Leg 6, teams needed to head to the Glacier Cafe in Marrakesh, Morocco at which point one racer from each team needed to be selected to hit the street, set up a vendor's booth in a nearby plaza, and sell five bowls of escargot to the public at a specific price. Once five bowls were successfully handed off and the money collected, that member would receive their next clue. Gerard, Derek, Aaron, Jill, Flo, and Andre completed this Road Block while neither Teri nor Ian participated as they had collected the Fast Forward.

After the Road block, teams needed to arrive at the Pit Stop, the Riad Catalina.

In Leg 7, teams progressed to Innsbruck, Austria. For the Road Block, teams reached Seegrube Station in Nord Park. Once there, one team member from each team needed to ride in a gondola to the midway point of the line and descend from a rescue line 230 feet to the ground.

At the bottom, the clue would be received and players could make their way to the Pit Stop, a field outside Neuschwanstein Castle in Fussen, Germany. Teri, Jill, Gerard, and Drew all completed this Road Block task. Neither Zach nor Flo competed because they had retrieved the Fast Forward. Additionally, Andre and Damon were eliminated in this leg early on as all other teams had arrived at the Pit Stop.

Answer: Apple

In Leg 8, teams made their way to Switzerland. Towards the end of the Leg, teams progressed to a small field near the train station in Grindelwald. Once there, one member of each team needed to take a crossbow and shoot an apple off the top of a mannequin's head a la William Tell. Once this was done, they would receive the clue taking them to the Pit Stop, the Chalet Arnika. Ian, John Vito, Ken, Zach, and Derek all competed in this accuracy test before moving on to the Pit Stop.

Answer: Bicycle

In Leg 9, the participating team members needed to find the Chateau de Chilion in Veytaux, Switzerland. Once there, they needed to, using a model as an example, build a Swiss Army bike using the tools provided. Once their bike had been approved safe, the participating team member needed to ride the bike (with their partner on the model bike) to a harbor containing peddleboats which they could use to reach the Pit Stop, the Steamship Savoie floating on Lake Geneva. Gerard, Drew, Ian, and Zach all completed this Road Block. John Vito and Jill did not complete this task since they claimed the Fast Forward in Leg 9 (by eating through a large wheel of cheese).

In Leg 11, teams made their way to Vietnam. In Ho Chi Minh City, teams made their way to 2A Ton Duc Thang Street on the edge of the Saigon River. Once there, one member of each team (Gerard, Ian, Zach, and Drew) ended up needing to pedal a cycle rickshaw down a marked course through Ho Chi Minh City, across the Saigon River on a ferry, and to the Pit Stop, the Cafe Thu Thiem. Derek and Drew, who had trouble finding the clue in the first place, accidentally crossed the river on the ferry and arrived at the Pit Stop having not completed the Road Block.

They were subsequently eliminated as a result.

Answer: Elephant

In this final Road block task (the final task before teams headed to the Finish line), team needed to choose one member at Lincoln Park, Seattle to shift the heads found on a totem pole around so that they formed the proper pattern. The correct order was designated by the chronological occurrences of certain animals in the race: Donkey, Dolphin, Horse, Goat, and Manatee. All of these animals were used in Detours and Road Blocks earlier on. Zach, Ian, and Gerard all finished up with this puzzle and all the teams made their way to the race's Finish Line, Gas Works Park in Seattle, Washington.
