Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first leg of the race, one ream member completed a Road Block in British Columbia. In what city did the other team member also complete a Road Block task?

Answer: Toronto

The first leg of the race sent teams from the start line in Toronto all the way across the country to Kamloops, British Columbia, so while one team member was asked to head to a Toronto recording studio to work on the trailer for the 2019 live action Disney film "The Lion King", the other team member had to pursue a more adrenaline-spiking task by ziplining 1,000 feet across the open pit Ajax Mine.

The team member who completed the first task was not eligible to complete the second, meaning that by the end of the first leg of the race, all racers had completed one Road Block task.
2. In the second Leg of the race, teams headed to Revelstoke, B.C. where one member of each had to ride a dirt bike course, finishing how many laps in an allotted time?

Answer: One

There was only one lap, but the selected team member needed to complete the bumpy course in one minute and fifty seconds or less to be able to collect their next clue. This task, completed by Sam, Dave, Marie, James, Joanne, Trish, Aisha, Aarthy, and Sean, proved to be the type of task that needed more than one attempt as the course itself and the handling of the bulky vehicles proved to have a bit of a learning curve.

When this task was completed, teams received their Detour task, sending them off to the forests of Revelstoke.
3. During the third leg of the race, team members completing the Road Block in Edmonton, Alberta dedicated themselves to which of these arts?

Answer: Ikebana

Arriving at the Kurimoto Japanese Garden on the grounds of the University of Alberta's Botanic Garden, the eight teams still in the running were required to choose one team member who would be required to watch a professional perform the Japanese art of flower arranging-- Ikebana-- and correctly mimic their creation following all necessary steps (including cleaning their workstations).

When their flowers were properly set they could get it approved before heading to the next Pit Stop. Irina, Thinesh, Anthony, Sarah, Lauren, Amy, Meghan, and Gilles all opted to 'get icky' and complete this task.
4. How many teams opted to use Express Passes to skip one of the two Road Blocks in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories (in Leg 4)?

Answer: Two

Leg 4 was the second leg of the race to feature two Road Blocks which implied that whoever was not chosen for the first task had to complete the second. Anthony and James used their Express Pass at the end of the first Road Block allowing James to avoid completing a series of tasks involving Canadian-mined diamonds. Dave and Irina, already in the lead, skipped the second Road Block.

This left only one Express Pass (belonging to Aarthy and Thinesh) in the game.
5. The second Road Block of Leg 4 (in the Northwest Territories), required that team members wear which of these?

Answer: Wetsuit

Although selected team members had to sort through Canadian diamonds in the first Road Block in Leg 4, teams returned to Great Slave Lake in the same leg to find a second Road Block waiting for them, this one requiring the unchosen team member to don a wetsuit and dive into the frigid waters of Yellowknife. Once the necessary team member swam through the water (under the ice!) and emerged on the other side at their exit hole, they could get their next clue.
6. In the fifth leg of the race teams went spelunking in British Columbia and one member of each team needed to photograph which of these?

Answer: Letters

The fifth leg of the race, taking teams to Vancouver Island and Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park, saw a spelunking Road Block which required that teams dive into a cave and use a provided Huawei smartphone to photograph eleven hidden letters. When they had all eleven they could use a whiteboard to unscramble their anagrammed findings to spell the name of their next Pit Stop-- 'Goats on Roof', indicating a spot in Coombs, British Columbia. Dave, Lauren, Sarah, Trish, Marie, Aarthy, and Anthony were considered photographers suited for this task.
7. Leg 8 saw a memorization Road Block in Quebec. Teams had to memorize a speech themed around which event?

Answer: G7 Summit

Arriving in Charlevoix, Quebec in Leg 8, teams made their way to the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu for their first Road Block in three legs. For this one, the selected team member needed to dress formally and memorize a G7 speech in both English and French before presenting their lines to an audience of press members.

When they finished their speeches, they also needed to answer questions from Italian, Japanese, and German press members in their native languages to get their next clue. James, Sam, Irina, Joanne, and Thinesh learned the lines for this task.
8. In Wolfville, Nova Scotia in Leg 10, what did racers need to do during the Road Block?

Answer: Eat

Arriving at the Tangled Gardens outside of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, teams found a Road Block that required one member of each pairing search the grounds for seven different herbs commonly grown in gardens in Nova Scotia. Then, with seven different types of jellies given to them, they had to identify which herbs were used to make each respective jelly. If they could get all seven, they could get their next clue. Dave, Lauren, Sarah, and Anthony completed this task.
9. There were two Road Blocks in the final leg of the race in Muskoka. Where was the second held?

Answer: Santa's Village

The first Road Block, held on Rosseau Lake in the town of Minett, involved strapping into a hydro-flyboard and rising fifty feet above the water's surface to toss a beanbag into a target while the second, taking teams to Santa's Village theme park in Bracebridge, Ontario, involved searching the elves of the park for one of three with a red-and-yellow candy cane to hand off to Santa in exchange for another clue. Because there were two Road Blocks in this leg of the race, the team member who completed the first was not eligible to complete the second.
10. How many Road Blocks appeared during the seventh season of "The Amazing Race: Canada"?

Answer: Eleven

In eleven legs of the race, there was a total of eleven Road Blocks, but the interesting thing about this season is that three of the legs didn't contain any of them, with a large gap between the fourth and seventh legs of the race (neither 6 nor 7 had a Road Block).

Instead, legs 1, 4, and 11 had two Road Blocks each, and in all of these instances, the team member who completed the first task was ineligible to complete the second, leading some racers to be forced to complete their solo tasks. Only one of these saw the use of the Express Pass to avoid being forced, specifically for Irina in Leg 4 (she avoided the polar swim).
