While nine teams in this season were completely new couples looking to go on the race of a lifetime, viewers were also given the chance to vote in a Fan Favourite team, allowing them to return for a second chance at the prize. In the end, viewers voted for Jet and Dave (season 1) over Brent and Sean (season 3) and Frankie and Amy (season 4), and they joined the others. All ten teams commenced the race at David Pecaut Square in front of Toronto's Metro Hall, racing to their bags and opening their first clue to begin their incredible journey for $250,000 (CDN). And that first clue would send them to the Extreme Reach Recording Studio.

Answer: The Lion King

Taking cabs to the Extreme Reach Recording Studio, teams arrived to find their first Road Block. For this, they had to step up to the microphone in the studio and record the voice parts for the trailer of the Disney live action "The Lion King" film. First, they had to rehearse the timing of a voice-over script.

When ready, they needed to perfectly time their take as per the trailer. Irina, Jet, Sean, Aisha, Anthony, Sam, Joanne, Meaghan, Thinesh, and Trish. After completing this task, teams were told to take cabs to the Ontario Food Terminal, and there they would be able to find two halves of a postcard informing them of their next destination elsewhere in the country.

Answer: Kamloops

Finding the two halves of their postcards, teams were directed to make their way to Kamloops, British Columbia (via Vancouver) nearly four thousand kilometres away. To do this, they had to sign up for one of two flights at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, each of which would carry half the teams.

The second flight would arrive thirty minutes after the first. Upon landing, they were told to hop into a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 parked at the airport and in which they would be able to grab their next clue directing them to the Ajax Mine.

Answer: True

Driving themselves to the Ajax Mine, the teams ended up finding the second of two Road Blocks in this first leg of the race. For this, the second teammate (who didn't complete the first Road Block) needed to strap into a zipline and careen across the open pit.

While in flight, the team member needed to toss a ball into a marked area 100 feet below to get their next clue. If they failed to hit the marked area, they would need to go to the back of the line and try again. Nicki, Lauren, Dave, Dave, Amy, Sarah, Aarthy, Gilles, Marie, and James completed this task. Following this, all teams headed to the Circle Creek Ranch where they needed to identify their next destination by reading the eartags of the cows in their herd.

Answer: Jet and Dave

In the end of the leg, teams were given a clue directing them to the race's first Pit Stop at the Kamloops Bike Ranch. Dave and Irina were the first to land on the map and because of that, they won themselves two Express Passes-- one for themselves and another to hand to another team before the end of the race's third leg.

They also ended up winning a trip for two to Cape Town, South Africa for their efforts. In the end, a lack of a map ended up sealing jet and Dave's fate. Following the second Road Block they went so far off-track that they ended up dropping to last and getting themselves eliminated from the race.

Answer: The Last Spike

Instead of leaving British Columbia, teams had to head along the Trans-Canada Highway towards the city of Revelstoke. They needed to follow the railway as they went, stopping off to find their first clue box of the leg in the town of Craigellachie at the monument to the Last Spike. Upon arriving at this spot where the Canadian Pacific Railway was joined to the rest of Canada, teams found their next Road Block clue.

Answer: Dirt bike

In the race's third Road Block, teams needed to determine 'who's ready for the main course?' In this task, both team members headed to the Glacier House Resort where the chosen member needed to don protective gear and ride a dirt bike around a marked course in under one minute and fifty seconds. If they could cross the finish line in that time then they could continue on with the race.

This task was completed by Sam, Dave, Marie, James, Joanne, Trish, Aisha, Aarthy, and Sean.

Answer: 'Paddle'

After completing the Road Block in the second leg, teams needed to engage with the beautiful forests surrounding Revelstoke, B.C. by choosing an option for their first Detour-- 'Plant' or 'Paddle'. In 'Plant', teams drove to the B.C. Interior Forestry Museum and Forest Discovery Center where they needed to grab forty seedlings and use tools to space out and plant their trees.

In 'Paddle', teams had to collect five flags throughout Williamson Lake by paddling two kayaks tied together bow to stern and stern-to-bow. Dave and Irina, Anthony and James, Trish and Amy, Nicki and Aisha, and Lauren and Joanne completed 'Plant' while Meaghan and Marie, Gilles and Sean, Aarthy and Thinesh, and Sarah and Sam completed 'Paddle'.

Answer: Model train set

After their Detour, teams were told to head to the Revelstoke Railway Museum whereupon they would be able to take a table spot and use pieces provided for them to create a model train circuit, fully closing it without any dead ends. If they could properly construct the set without instructions and have the train take a full loop over the entire course, they could get their next clue and drive onward to their second Pit Stop.

Answer: Nicki and Aisha

To close out this leg of the race, teams left the Revelstoke Railway Museum and drove themselves to the base of the Revelstoke Mountain Resort. There, they needed to take a cable car to the summit and search on foot for the Pit Stop atop Mount Mackenzie. Aarthy and Thinesh, who gained places throughout the entire leg, ended up leaving the final task in first and landed on the Pit Stop mat just before Dave and Irina.

The couple ended up winning themselves a trip for two to Madrid, Spain and an Express Pass to celebrate their victory. Being stuck at the back of the pack throughout the leg, the last team to arrive ended up being Nicki and Aisha.

They were eliminated.
