Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Starting Leg 10, teams returned to what earlier-visited city?

Answer: Toronto

At the end of Leg 9, all teams were given another clue and told to keep on racing despite spending an entire leg hustling through the Charlevoix region of Quebec. To begin, they had to hop on trains and make their way back to the city of Toronto, Ontario, a city they visited in the seventh leg (briefly) and make their way to the Royal Ontario Museum. Upon reaching the ROM, the teams needed to look for ten objects from the museum's permanent collection and collect a stamp from each one.

When combined, the stamps would spell out the name of their next destination: Thunder Bay.
2. The final five teams took a seventeen hour ride on which of these during the ninth leg of the race?

Answer: Coach bus

Teams headed to the Toronto Coach Terminal to sign up for a coach bus seventeen hours directly to Thunder Bay, Ontario, and upon their arrival they were let loose on the city in five minute intervals based on when they arrived at the bus. Upon their arrival, teams found their next clue at the Terry Fox Monument along with a 2019 Chevrolet Spark which they could use to make their way to a local Shell gas station. Once they fuelled up their vehicles, they received another clue from the gas attendant.
3. Which of these was not an activity teams could participate in during the Face Off in Leg 9?

Answer: Ping pong

After filling their tank, teams proceeded to drive themselves to the Thunder Bay establishment known as Wacky's to compete in this leg's Face Off. For this one, the longest-waiting team could choose to face off against the next team in line in air hockey, table hockey, or axe throwing.

The last team standing needed to wait for an hourglass to run out of time. Anthony and James chose axe throwing (twice) while Lauren and Joanne chose air hockey twice. After all the Face Off competitions were complete, Aarthy and Thinesh had to wait out the penalty.
4. In the 'Cutting the Wedge' Detour option in Leg 9, teams worked with which of these?

Answer: Cheese

Completing the Face Off, teams received a Detour clue. This time, they got to choose between 'Cutting Edge' and 'Cutting a Wedge'. In 'Cutting Edge', teams needed to drive to the Lakehead University Faculty of Natural Resources Airfield and, using a drone from The Source, spot four stuffed moose toys from above. One racer would blindly fly the drone while their partner would use a virtual reality headset to locate the moose and plot the locations on a grid.

In 'Cutting a Wedge', teams went to the Thunder Oak Cheese Farm to locate a specific gouda wheel and weigh out slices, packaging thirty-two wedges before receiving their next clue. Only three stations were available at either Detour. Dave and Irina, Anthony and James, and Sarah and Sam completed 'Cutting Edge' while Lauren and Joanne and Aarthy and Thinesh completed 'Cutting a Wedge'.
5. Which team was eliminated at the end of Leg 9 (in fifth place overall)?

Answer: Aarthy and Thinesh

At the end of this double-length, non-stop leg, the final five teams had to drive out of Thunder Bay and out to Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park to find their ninth Pit Stop overlooking the 'Niagara of the North'. Dave and Irina led the majority of the leg and, by using their momentum, they were able to nab yet another win, this time claiming a trip for two to Venice, Italy.

Although they led through Leg 8, Aarthy and Thinesh were last to leave Toronto and they were unable to regain ground in Thunder Bay.

They were subsequently eliminated.
6. To which maritime province did teams fly in Leg 10?

Answer: Nova Scotia

The first clue of the race's tenth leg told teams to fly to Nova Scotia to find their next destination: Wolfville. The flight took teams through Toronto to their next stop. Upon landing in Halifax, teams had to grab their Chevrolet Silverados and drive to the Annapolis Valley, following the clues in their vehicles' secret compartment to Tangled Gardens in Grand-Pré, a short trip east of Wolfville proper.

It was there that teams found their Road Block task. This leg was the only maritime visit in this season of the race.
7. How many jellies needed to be identified in the Road Block at the Tangled Garden in Leg 10?

Answer: Seven

For the Road Block in Leg 10, teams needed to choose one member to 'deal with a sticky situation'. In this task, the selected member had to head into the Tangled Garden reserve and sample and identify jams and jellies on the grounds. They had to search the gardens for seven jellies and then, once they identified them, they had to match them up with jellies in a taste test to get their next clue. Dave, Lauren, Sarah, and Anthony were selected for this challenge.

After the Road Block was done, teams headed to Elderkin's Farm Market to find the Puck N' Apples stand.
8. All four teams completed the 'Puck' Detour task in Leg 10 (over 'Apples').

Answer: False

At the Puck N' Apples stand in Wolfville, teams found a Detour task suitably asking for either 'Puck' or 'Apples'. In 'Puck', teams visited the Acadia University campus to search for an arena where they could try the Paralympic sport of sledge hockey. If both team members could work together to complete a complex sledge hockey drill in under one minute, they could get their next clue.

In 'Apples', teams visited the Noggins Corner Farmer's Market to sort twelve varieties of apples for sale. 'Puck' was chosen by Anthony and James and Sarah and Sam while 'Apples' was done by Dave and Irina and Lauren and Joanne.
9. In Leg 10, teams had to memorize a song and deliver which of these to collect their final clue?

Answer: Beer

Upon completion of the Detour, teams drove to their next destination in Port Williams, Nova Scotia, Taproot Farms. There, using their Chevrolet Silverados, they had to use the rearview camera system to spot clues and learn the lyrics to the Jeff Hennessy and Mark Adam song "Farewell to Nova Scotia", a local anthem.

They then needed to hitch a U-Haul to their vehicle and drive it to the Church Brewing Co. in Wolfville for a delivery before performing the song on-stage to receive their next clue.
10. Which team was eliminated from the race at the end of Leg 10, narrowly missing out on the final leg?

Answer: Dave and Irina

The final clue of Leg 10 was a photograph of Jon Montgomery pointing at a red telephone booth, and teams needed to use the image to locate him and check in at their final Pit Stop of the race, the Luckett Vineyards in the town of Gaspereau, Nova Scotia. Leading out of the Road Block, Anthony and James dominated the leg and took another win going into the finale. For their victory, they also took a trip for two to Singapore. Closing out the penultimate leg of the race, Dave and Irina, who were frontrunners throughout the whole race, finally fell behind during the Detour, sorting apples.

They placed fourth overall, missing out on the last leg despite having the strongest track record.
11. In which province did the final three teams race to the Finish Line in Leg 11?

Answer: Ontario

Teams left Wolfville, Nova Scotia at the start of the final leg, opening their clues midday to discover that they were heading back to Toronto and Pearson International Airport. From there they needed to locate the Executive Terminal to mark their names on a sign-up board and take one of three floatplanes to Muskoka, Ontario, the province's cottage country. Specifically, their flight would take them to Lake Rosseau in the town of Port Carling, where they could find their next clue upon arrival.
12. To test their knowledge of the race, teams needed to complete which of the following?

Answer: Board game

In Port Carling, teams needed to proceed to the Muskoka Lakes Museum whereupon they found Jon Montgomery and their next task-- the completion of a cottage board game, blown up to life-size. For this challenge, both team members needed to roll dice to proceed around the board and answer trivia questions pertaining to the tasks completed in each specific leg of the race. Once they correctly finished questions about all ten previous legs, they could get their next clue.
13. During the first Road Block of Leg 11, team members needed to pilot a hydro flyboard.

Answer: True

Upon completing the board game, teams received a Road Block clue asking for 'who's got this in the bag'. For this task, teams drove to Clevelands House in Minett, Ontario. Once there, the chosen member had to attach themselves to a hydro-flyboard and learn how to pilot the unique device, maintaining a height fifty feet above the water.

When this was done, they then had to toss a beanbag into a target to get their next clue. James, Sam, and Joanne completed this task. Following this task, teams hopped into a speedboat to pursue their next clue.
14. In the final Road Block of the race, teams needed to locate a red-and-yellow version of which of these?

Answer: Candy cane

Upon arriving at a dock in Rosseau, teams disembarked to find their next task at Rosseau Lake College. There, they had to work together to build an oversized Muskoka Chair to continue on. The clue that teams received after this sent them deeper into Muskoka to a second Road Block meaning that since James, Sam, and Joanne completed the first one, Anthony, Sarah, and Lauren had to finish this one. For this task, the selected team members entered Santa's Village in Bracebridge and, 'ready for a holiday', they had to search the theme park for one of three elves carrying a race-coloured candy cane.
15. Which team won "The Amazing Race: Canada 7"?

Answer: Anthony and James

After their second Road Block, the race wasn't over. Teams proceeded to the town of Bala to find their next task at the Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery. There, they needed to finish their race by constructing a delicate irrigation system used to water a large portion of a cranberry marsh. Once the system worked without a leak, they would get their last clue sending them to the Finish Line at Camp Mini-Yo-We in Port Sydney.

The first team to cross the finish line there was Anthony and James who won the $250,000 prize, a trip for two around the world, and two 2019 Chevrolet Blazer vehicles.

They were followed by Sarah and Sam in second and Lauren and Joanne in third.
