Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the expression "throwing shade"?

Answer: "She said what about me!? She is always throwin' shade."

"Throwing shade" is the drag art of sarcasm. Poking fun, insulting, or "reading" as it is also known is a huge part of drag culture. You gotta be able to take some shade, and be ready to throw it right back. It is a regular challenge on "Drag Race" to see who can throw shade best.
2. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the term "Mop"?

Answer: "I mopped this dress from the store. I hope the security camera didn't catch me."

"Mopping" is synonymous with "stealing". We learned in the Season 3 premiere when queens were told they could get bonus materials for their dress challenge by "mopping" it from the store.
3. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the term "cooking"?

Answer: "I can't put on my wig yet, my face is still cooking."

As we know, it takes a lot more than some blush to turn from a man into a gorgeous queen. "Cooking" is the phase after the face has been highlighted and shaded properly when makeup must be left alone to set before blending. You can frequently see the girls on "Drag Race" fanning themselves in the makeup chairs to accelerate this process.
4. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the expression "the house down"?

Answer: "That outfit looks amazing on her. She is dressed the house down."

As Manila educated the viewers of Season 3, "the house down" is essentially the written version of an exclamation point. An amazing dancer "dances the house down" or a mean person "was snobby the house down."
5. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the term "fishy"?

Answer: "Wow, you're fishy. I thought you were honestly a woman."

"Fishy" means "real girl". While many drag queens consider being "fishy" (also known as "serving fish") the ideal, there is large movement against trying to pass for being female and advocates a true blurring of gender lines. The movement starts with the word Gender and ends with a word I can't type here...
6. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the term "T"?

Answer: "Just give me the T and stop lying."

"T" is the "truth". It is commonly used in expressions such as "What's the T?", "The real T", and "No T, no shade", which is another way of saying that one is just being honest and not trying to insult anyone.
7. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the word "paint"?

Answer: "My make up took two hours, but my paint is fierce so it was worth it."

"Paint" refers to make up more specifically than just the product. When used as a noun it means the finished look of a queens face. A great paint goes a long way.
8. For the season 1 queen Nina Flowers, is there a single sentence "Loca!" cannot work in?

Answer: No

Nina's "Loca" is one of the shows original catchprases, along with fellow member of the final 2, Bebe Zahara Benet's call of "CAMEROON!"
9. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the word "ki-ki"?

Answer: "I haven't seen you in forever! Let's ki-ki and catch up!"

"Ki-ki" can be a noun or a verb, and basically means gossip. A ki-ki, or to ki-ki, is a chat between two friendly queens.
10. What sentence features the proper drag-use of the word "kai-kai"?

Answer: "I don't date other drag queens. Not interested in kai-kai"

A "kai-kai" is a romance between two drag queens. Some of the show's notable "kai-kai" couples are Alaska and Sharon Needles, and Manila Luzon and Sahara Davenport (RIP)
