Each magical girl has her own special ability, and in Snow White's case, it's the power to telepathically hear the voices of people in distress. She becomes a magical girl because she's always been a fan of magical girl anime and manga, and wants to use her powers to help those in need.

It's also a practical skill to have as magical girls earn candies by doing good deeds and helping others, and they can use the candies to buy extra items. In sequels, she fine-tunes this power and uses it to sense her opponents' fear and react accordingly, making it almost a form of move-reading.

Answer: She dies in the real world.

Nemurin is a rather sleepy magical girl who, in real life, is a lazy 20-something called Nemu who lives with her mother. She has the power to travel through dreams and help people in their dreams, but the candies she collects in the dream world don't count, and as a result, she has the least. Nemu's mother goes into her room to wake her up and finds her dead body.

The press states she died of a heart attack, but the surviving magical girls realise that the game has turned deadly. Fav also ups the ante by allowing magical girls to exchange candies, but this also enables Ruler and her group, which includes Tama, Yunael and Minael and Swim Swim, to steal them.

Answer: She only takes half of Snow White's candies and gives them to everyone except Ruler.

Nemurin unwittingly gives Swim Swim the idea to get rid of Ruler when she goes into Swim Swim's dream, where Swim Swim is watching a beautiful princess, and tells Swim Swim she should become a princess herself. Swim Swim idolises Ruler and wants to be like her, but also wants to kill her and take her place as there can only be one Ruler. Ruler uses her mind control powers to make Snow White hand over her candies, but Swim Swim is one step ahead of her and manipulates things so that Ruler has fewer candies than anyone else, by only taking half of Snow White's candies and dividing her stash of candies up among the other magical girls. Yunael and Minael, who are fed up with Ruler's bossiness, happily go along with it. Ruler subsequently becomes the second magical girl to die.

Answer: Sister Nana and Weiss Winterprison

Sister Nana looks like a nun and has the ability to 'make people better' by increasing their capabilities, while Weiss Winterprison can create barriers out of organic material, such as rocks. They tend to fight as a duo, similar to Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune in 'Sailor Moon', mirroring their real-life relationship. Sister Nana is a pacifist at heart and believes the magical girls should work together.

Unfortunately, when she suggests this to Cranberry - a cynical loner who resembles an elf, and has sound manipulation powers and superhuman hearing - Cranberry attacks her, and makes it clear that she is playing to win.

Answer: La Pucelle

La Pucelle, who has an expanding sword and is named after Joan of Arc, is actually a childhood friend of Snow White who went to the same primary school as her. His real name is Souta Kishibe, and he is also a fan of magical girl anime and manga; he has kept a drawing that Snow White/Koyuki did for him of her own magical girl persona.

As La Pucelle, she was mentored by Sister Nana, and she fights alongside Snow White and mentors her, as Top Speed does with Ripple. Cranberry finds out that La Pucelle fought off three other magical girls and challenges her to a duel, as she enjoys fighting strong magical girls. La Pucelle gives it her best shot, but is overpowered by Cranberry, who forces her to change back into a boy and pushes him into a road, where he is hit by a truck.

As he dies, he thinks of Koyuki.

Answer: Slash her throat

Calamity Mary goes into partnership with Magicaloid 44, a robotic magical girl with a Doraemon-esque ability to pull random objects out of a pouch. Magicaloid's item of the day turns out to be wire, which she tries to use to kill Snow White, but Hardgore Alice stops her by ripping her heart out - despite being headless.

This doesn't do much for Snow White's nervousness around Hardgore Alice, but Alice turns out to be a friend and wants to work with her. Calamity Mary, a magical girl with a cowgirl theme and the ability to increase the capabilities of any weapon she wields, attempts to kill Alice in revenge by blowing her up, dousing the remains in acid and sealing them in a barrel of cement, which she throws into a river.

However, Alice manages to seep out of the barrel and reform her body.

When Mary finds out that Alice is still alive, she goes into hysterics.

Answer: She is pregnant.

Both Yunael and Weiss Winterprison have died at this point; Yunael disguised herself as Nana and stabbed Weiss, and Weiss killed her in revenge, but succumbed to her injuries. Calamity Mary has started shooting at random civilians on the highway, forcing Ripple and Top Speed to intervene. Ripple kills Mary by throwing shurikens at her (Ripple's special power is super aiming skills), but the victory is short-lived when Swim Swim appears and stabs Top Speed in the back just as she hugs Ripple. When Top Speed turns back into her civilian form, the camera pans down to reveal that she is heavily pregnant, much to Ripple's horror. Nana, meanwhile, can't cope without Weiss and hangs herself.

Answer: A toy rabbit

Minael and Yunael, a pair of twin angel magical girls, are twin sisters in real life, and Minael has become increasingly unhinged as the result of Yunael's death. Hardgore Alice - as both Calamity Mary and Magicaloid 44 have previously found out - is impossible to kill in her magical girl form as she can regenerate from injuries, so Swim Swim figures out the only way to kill her is by attacking her while she is untransformed. Alice carries a toy rabbit around with her, and Minael sneaks into Alice's house and finds out her real identity - a primary school girl - while disguised as a toy rabbit. Swim Swim attacks Alice on her way to school before she can transform and kills her, and the dying Alice gives her lucky rabbit's foot to Snow White, who has heard her distress calls but is too late to save her.

Answer: She tears her apart by scratching her and creating a hole.

Tama wears a dog outfit and is a teenage girl in real life, who is very shy and has a bad relationship with her pushy mother. She is often bullied by Ruler. Her power involves making holes in things; she can tear a hole in an object by scratching it and, as Cranberry finds out the hard way, Tama's power also works on living beings. Cranberry kills Minael by destroying her heart while she's transformed into a rock - Cranberry can hear her heartbeat - and then attacks Swim Swim and knocks her out, but is distracted when she discovers that Swim Swim is a primary school age girl, and Tama kills her by scratching her, which rips her body apart. Cranberry is also revealed to be working with Fav, and has turned the game into a death match as a means of recruiting magical girls (though Fav's superiors are unaware of what he's up to). Unfortunately for Tama, Swim Swim kills her shortly afterwards because Tama saw her in her civilian form.

In the light novel, Swim Swim decapitates her with a naginata, which she has named after Ruler, but this is toned down in the anime and she just impales Tama instead.

Answer: Right eye and arm

Fav offers to make Swim Swim into a Master who will oversee the next magical girl exam, but she declines. Ripple, who is angry about Top Speed's death, talks to Fav and he reveals that Swim Swim, who has the ability to turn her body into water, can be harmed by light or sound. Fav is actually trying to manipulate Swim Swim and Ripple into killing each other, as he thinks neither of them would make a suitable Master, and wants Snow White to become one, but this only turns her against him even more. Ripple stuns Swim Swim with a flash grenade, causing her to transform back into her civilian form, and repeatedly stabs her with her own naginata, but loses an arm and an eye in the process.

A furious Snow White enables Ripple to kill Fav by destroying the master terminal, thanks to the lucky rabbit's foot Alice gave her. Snow White and Ripple then team up, with Ripple offering to train her in combat.
