 They are celebrating the completion of the Astrometrics Lab, which Seven of Nine and Ensign Kim design. It features prominently in later episodes.

 This episode is the first apperance of her new loose, chin-length haircut. In the previous episode, 'Scientific Method' she still has her hair long.
